…because it’s football

…because when the Hell will this season end?

…because Fedya is missing the game to be at Marcel Marceau Bingo Night.

It was non contact and it didn’t look like he made a violent cut producing a lot of stress on his knee or ankle.  Could be turf or just one of those things.

Hope he is OK, I like watching him play.

This has been a pretty good game. It looks like both teams match up well and talent level seems to be equal.

NE defense may be the biggest difference.

There's no excuse for a 12 year veteran QB to play as bad as McCoy.

If we’re being honest. The NFL has a serious head coaching deficiency in 2022. Get past Bill B. Reid. Carroll. Harbaugh and Tomlin. It’s a bunch of O coordinators. Some D coordinators. And Jeff Saturday.

The overall football quality this year has been trash. It’s entertaining week to week but in a grease fire sort of way.

It’s tough as f**k to be a good head coach in the NFL on a consistent basis  The NFL doesn’t have many of them. It really shows this year.

All these coaches trying to be the next great football mind

Coaching the NFL seems pretty eazy.   If McStupidface can become a highly successful head coach in this league then the bar is set pretty low.

Scouting tennis prospects seems a lot more worthwhile, as long as Feyda doesn’t chime in about Justine Henin Hardenne.

MM has his weaknesses, but the guy has won 12 or more games in a season with three different starting QBs over a 14 year period, and made deep playoff runs with 2 of them (so far). That's not all luck. I'm not sure any other coaches in the modern NFL era (won roughly 75% of the games in a season with 3 different starting QBs) have done that outside of Don Shula (Griese, Marino, Morrall, Unitas, Woodley). He's very good at setting up an organizational structure and being consistent and maintaining an even keel.

MM's message got stale in Green Bay at the end, but if he gets to another Super Bowl as the head coach of the Cowboys, he's looking at some consideration for the Hall of Fame. And the Cowboys are certainly at worst the second most likely team win the NFC right now.

He's made the playoffs 11 times in 16 years as a head coach, made it to the title game 4 times, and has a Super Bowl ring. He coached one of only 7 teams to win at least 15 games in a regular season.

By no means is he the perfect coach, but to say he's not a good coach is going too far. Maybe I missed the sarcasm in the response?

Kyler will still be under contract

You're not that far off. They probably can't realistically move on until 2027 (perhaps 2026 if they are willing to eat 20 million in dead cap that year).

The DC and OC he has in Dallas are considerably better than what he had in Green Bay near the end.

MM’s record is every bit as solid as Sean Payton’s. AR gets all the credit for MM’s success, but Payton didn’t win anything without Brees.

My point had nothing to with Mike or Matt specifically . They both kinda sorta fall into where I was going. Head coaches in 2022 generally suck. And what we see each week is a reflection of that.

One thing I'll say about MM's teams while in GB is that once Dec. rolled around, he'd have them ready for a run.  He was the coach when "AR ran the table".  Whether they already had clinched the north or had muddled around up until then, they'd started playing their best ball from Dec into the playoffs...injuries or poor defense notwithstanding.  We'll see if MLF has any of that ability this year.  That awful loss to DET last year was not a good sign.

I can't really pin that Detroit loss on anything. There was nothing to play for.

This December/Jan regular season will be much more telling. They are all playoff games now and once they lose it's pretty much over.
