This is a brainchild of Cliff Christl, a long time GBPG sports writer, who is now semi-retired. It consists of a walking / biking trail through the city, stopping at various locations that feature in Packer history. My favorite is the Bellin Building, home to Doc Kelly and Gerald Clifford, the guys who ran Lambeau out of town when he tried to move the Packers. Both were part of the Hungry Five . Much Packer history didn't take place on the football field.

That is cool! I once went to GB to watch TC with my cousin. On one of the two days I was there it rained and practices were moved inside. My cousin & I decided to do a tour of GB ourselves. We got our list of places to see together, then asked where those places were. Some people did not know, others knew and we took directions as good as we could. We found most of them including several in this tour. I can only say I wish they had done this sooner - like several years ago.
After practice yesterday, I did the downtown heritage trail walking tour. It was great. It was nice to put some places to the things I have read about growing up. I also was struck by how many of the formative events in Packer history happened so close to each other. We also went to the East HS site, and the plaques cleared up the Hagamister field location vs the first City Stadium site that was used until 1956. They were right next to each other.

There are some things to be aware of. The major thing is the plaques aren't always where you might expect them to be. Stop #2 for instance, at Hagamister (spell?) Bar I was looking for the plaque on the Washington street side of the building. I couldn't find it so I went inside & asked. The young lady I talked to didn't know anything about it, but another person she asked said it was out on the side of the building out back facing the river, and instructed the young lady to show us where that was. So we saw it, but I wouldn't have guessed to look there on my own. There some others that we found after a little extra looking effort.

It is definely worth the effort - IMO.
