Feels great to be peaking at the right time.

MM and TT surely deserve Coach and Executive of the year for having this team playing like it is with 15 guys on IR and stars like AR and CMIII missing complete games during the season.

Besides the Steelers having to play without Ben earlier this year what have the other 3 teams had to overcome?
The only way the Packers lose is if they beat themselves with dropped passes, special teams meltdowns, penalties and giveaways.

Even when this team is not clicking, they can still win. If the team is clicking on all cylinders, I don't seee who can beat them (other than themselves).

One thing that does worry me is Soldier Field. If it's cold, windy and the field is torn up, the talent gap between the Packers and Bears closes. Thats where the 'bone' comes into play....
I think the Packers will beat the Bears, but I think on paper, this is a close contest. As was mentioned on TV, the Bears get enough push with the front four and often play 7 back. Also, it was said Rodgers loves a dome. Well, Chicago sure won't be a dome. As we know, the Bears have a far better special teams.

The Packers can't make mistakes, including ST's and they need to stop the Bears from getting too much push with the DL.

Bears need that push, probably need some ST success, and need for Cutler to play mistake-free.

I suppose when looking at the above, the tallest order will be for Cutler to play mistake-free, but man, this one looks too close to call, but I like the Pack in a tight one.
I'm worried about the field too. It's the same for both teams though. What bothers me is how it could limit the Packers speed.

Overcome. Play our brand of football & we'll come out on top.

I hope the Jets make it past Pittsburgh but they won't. Provided the Packers can beat the Bears, I'd love a shot at the Jets.
Pittsburgh is right there. Their OL is suspect and GB would be able to contain them to an extent.

However, their defense is still elite. Troy Polamalu, Ryan Clark, James Harrison, etc won't whiff on sacks time after time like Atlanta did. Yes, Rodgers' athleticism helped out a lot of those plays but great tacklers like those guys aren't going to miss him that often in all likelihood.

I really hope it is that matchup though. Two of the most storied franchises in NFL history battling it out for the whole thing.

I do think Pittsburgh wins that game but they just lost to the Jets a few weeks ago on a nice drive at the end of the game to win it. Pitt had a chance at the end but didn't pull it off.
Packers put up:
45 on the Giants when it was 25 degrees, wind chill of 19, 5 mph winds.
27 on the Pats when it was 32 degrees, wind chill of 25, 8 mph winds.
34 on the 49ers when it was 26 degrees, wind chill of 14, 16 mph winds.

While I agree, they very well may thrive on turf/dome, I hardly think this is a team that can't function in the elements.

The Bears field is garbage and that may be an issue, but they've proven they can score points outdoors in the cold, so I think calling them a dome team is a bit premature.

As for the field, I'd argue it favors the offense, in that they aren't reacting to moves like the defense. I think points will be scored, it's the defense being able to maintain footing that I think will be the biggest challenge.
I was talking more about the slow track than the temperature.

Packers WRs and DBs thrive when they can be one step quicker than expected.

If Tramon Williams can't quite get to the ball for the interception, James Jones can't quite get behind the CB on a sideline fly pattern, Jennings can't make a quick cut and turn a 7 yard slant into a 70 yard TD.....stuff like that...this team thrives on quick moves.

To assume any of those things would have to assume the defensive players covering them experience the same problem.

What I wonder is what can we expect from the Packers O that they weren't able to do last time vs. CHI? Bears will stuff the run and they disrupted our receivers enough two weeks ago.
For whatever reason, Bears defense has stymied ARod the past few years. Whether "tight" or not, in the last game, we only put up 10 points.

Keys to me are Bulaga and Colledge on the o line, and the run game. The Falcons were able to get free runs at ARod because Colledge failed to pick up several stunts, and Bulaga has had his struggles recently. The run game will hopefully pull the Bears safeties out of their Tampa 2 cover.

Mayeb we can steal some ideas from the Patriots and Jets tapes and see how they were able to put up 35 plus points on the Bears at the end of the season.
