My dream of McCarthy returning to GB for a playoff game died today so I don't give a shit about that division.

If there are no upsets, Tom Brady vs. Aaron Rodgers in Lambeau Field. Best QB playoff matchup in Lambeau Field history?
If there is one upset, it means the Packers will get to face Trubisky, Goff, or Alex Smith/Daniel Jones. It would be huge not to face Brees, Wilson, or Brady in the first playoff game. I think the most likely upset is the Rams against the Seahawks. They split in the regular season.
I honestly think the Bears stand more than a punchers chance of beating the Saints. Their defense vs noodle arm Brees and maybe no Kamara? They got a chance but they need to be able to push the ball down the field a little more than they did today.
Bears with 1 sack vs Rodgers in 2 games. What a job by the O line today. Lucas Patrick graded out perfect with pass blocking today. The Bears had 0 push up the middle all game. I noticed Hicks stopped rushing the qb but just stood up on most plays in the second half.

It'll also mean the pre- and post-game shows screw up radio airing the Westwood One feeds of the playoff games.
The Giants have derailed Super Bowl teams in β07 and β11. Those demons will not be exorcized until they plow through the Giants en route to a Lombardi (in my view, FWIW)...

Bears chances vs NO will also depend on their injuries on D. We beat them with their missing Jaylen Johnson and Roquan Smith. I don't think they can beat NO without them.
Yeah, I think it was just a few years back (2010-11 season) that we played the Bores 3 times in same season?
Split the regular season games, then beat 'em in the NFCCG.
I'd have no problem doing that again.
I might give the Bores a puncher's chance to beat NO, but that's about all I can give 'em. The 'Aints are pretty stout at home.
I think it will depend on if their pass rush can get enough pressure on Brees. If they can get some sacks, force bad throws, or create turnovers, the Bears defense will play strong through all 4 quarters. If they let Brees slice and dice, and/or their offense is impotent, they will fold early.
They're still pretty good vs the rush so I don't think Kamara would have another 6 TD game.

Yeah, but the Bares won the first game that year in typical Bear fashion. I think that was a game where the Packers had like 20 penalties.
Bears were without Roquan, Jalen Johnson and Skrine today and MLF/AR took advantage of their backups often. They need those guys to have any chance vs NO's offense.
The Bears have to force Brees to throw long and throw to the outside. His arm isn't what it used to be and they can get him to make some mistakes if he has to throw long all day, plus he's never been a great scrambler. They also have to keep Kamara bottled up, and Mack and Hicks have to have a big day. Easy-peasy.

Was that the James Jones fumble(s) game?

They need Roquan back in the middle to help force those throws outside.
@MichiganPacker2 posted:Everyone is likely to get smoked by the Chiefs. IF we can get that far, it will come down to whether the defense can force FG attempts a few times and the offense scores almost every time they have the ball.
What's better than forcing FGs, by the Chiefs, is to force them into making turnovers! Savage, Amos, Jaire and King could make a KC-Packers game, a very long game, for KC, if Mahomes and Co. start to turn the ball over, on passing plays. Maybe KC, Gary and the Smiths can work some magic behind the LOS, too, to beat the Chiefs. If we get that far, that is.
Who cares about the Chiefs and the other 13 teams in the Big Dance.
Let them worry about the Packers.....a team that is playing real well, is pretty healthy (they have 2 weeks to get the O line up to playoff speed) and sleeping in their own beds and playing in the friendly confines of Lambeau Field.
My guess is every favorite in the NFC this weekend is peeking ahead to GB.
@artis posted:Was that the James Jones fumble(s) game?
Yep, he had a big fumble.
Looking at the box score, Brandon Jackson had 7 rushes for 12 yards. One of his runs was 11 yards. Kuhn had 6 for 31 and a long of 18. So the bulk of their running that day was 1.27 YPC on 11 runs. How things have changed!
@Herscher1 posted:Well The Bears only had one play over 24 yards. The 53 yarder to Mooney in which Savage got spun around.
Why cut the chunk pass plays off at 24yds? CHI had more pass plays >10yds than running plays >10yds and they've been running the ball well the last several weeks. That's what I meant. It's encouraging because our run D had taken a beating pretty much going back to last year, until last Sunday night. As others have said, every D is going to give up scores and yards, probably more likely to the pass. And their pass D has been solid all year, rounding the corner to very good lately with Savage's emergence. Still room for improvement and if they can stop dropping INT's and clean up some tackling, they'll be as good or better than any secondary in the playoffs.
POS: the pieces are all there, just need to clean things up.
NEG: they seem to perpetually need to clean things up.
I am freaking so happy the NFC has to come through GB finally. But, what I hope that the Packers do not come out flat at home. You cannot do that in the playoffs and expect to coast to a win. I hope the leadership on this team hammers that home the next two weeks.
One thing I really want is Brady in GB I want revenge in a big way on that team.
Maybe you can talk cousin Eddie into kidnapping him with his RV.
Some pretty interesting matchups this weekend.
If the Bears are healthy I expect they will give the Saints a fight. New Orleans should get their big guns back as well.
The Bills got no breaks having to play the Colts. Ravens and Titans looks to be a slugfest.
Itβs been a long time since GB has hosted the divisional round w/bye. At this point, itβs a 3 game season and they get to play at home for 2 of them. They have as good of a chance of anyone to represent the NFC in the Super Bowl. In the AFC, I personally donβt think the Chiefs are guaranteed to be there but if they make it that far the Packers probably match up the best with them.
I'll go out on a limb and saw the Bills will be in the Super Bowl. Josh Allen has been amazing this year.
He's arrived. The next step is doing it in the playoffs. He was emerging late last season and while his talent was obvious in the playoffs, he also made some late Favre-esque decisions that helped sink them. Will be really interested in seeing how he does this time around. Having Diggs will surely help.
I agree that trading for Diggs was such a smart move for them. He's no Davante, but a lot better than what they had.
Diggs is half-step below Adams. He is very good.
Itβs been a long time since GB has hosted the divisional round w/bye.
Yeah, they haven't hosted a Divisional Round game since beating Seattle in the 2019/20 playoffs.
Lol and I was completely sober when I posted that. Perhaps I should start drinking again.
Guess I was too forgetful about last years playoffs because I can seem to remember about them was getting curb stomped by the Niners.
Weβd all appreciate it .

Well, a year is a long time.
And AJ Dillon is just a chump that can only produce in garbage time.
Laughing at you all for pimping up the Bears against the Saints. That Saints defense can be nasty. I don't see little Mitchy doing well against them.
You are probably right but fuck you anyway.
Sponge Bob is gonna be a factor in this game. You just wait!!
I just want to point out that when Mills got banged up and had to leave the game in the first quarter, the announcer said βthat bears watchingβ which could also have been βthat Bearβs watching.β
