Sanchez is apparently out with the Jets. Never cared for him as a starter, but certainly a better option than Coleman.
I'd be shocked if they don't pull the plug on Coleman. Likely learned a valuable lesson by wasting three years on Harrell and having nothing to show for it.
I believe he makes the practice squad this year, but I'd bet the farm they draft someone new to challenge for that developmental role.
They could go into SFO with Coleman, then cut him and sign him to PS, then find a vet back-up to avoid paying full salary on a vested vet. Though I doubt they'd do this.
I think they could very well do this unless there is a cut today or a dirt cheap trade that is too tempting to pass on.
They could also go a game with no dedicated backup and have Cobb in the emergency role.
I'm hoping they'll push the reset button after their catastrophic handling of the backup situation, but we'll see.
NFL tweet: Would love to see Greg McElroy in Green Bay. Smart quarterback, good backup.
#Packers
I'll confess I have no clue who that is.
Played at Alabama a few years ago. Think he was also on the Jets.
Correct
Meaning Simms is the best QB for the Jets. Eeeeegads talk about screwing the long term pooch at QB.
I'd be ok with giving McElroy a look. Good athlete. Deceptively fast. Well spoken. Well versed at handing the ball to Alabama RB's.
The guy does not belong an an active NFL roster.
What NFL team do you work for?
You're one delicious injury away from Clowney!
You're 8 days away from another year of Cutler.
That is some funny stuff. Well done!
Just hearing that Brady Quinn is getting released. He may not be a back pickup. Plus he could give us some deeper insight into the Seachickens offense.
Looking at all the QB's being cut. It's pretty apparent the talent pool for backup QB's is a shallow one.
No school has produced more over hyped & under talented QBs than ND has. I don't care if he is Hawk's brother-in-law. Pass.

What NFL team do you work for?
Part owner but I like to take an active role.
Chillijon, there's no question about that. At this point, I can only imagine the Packers would be looking for an intelligent QB who can be a quick study, and someone who won't lose the game for them by making bad decisions. That's about the best you can hope for at this point.
that's an ugly stat titm. I watched the game and shouldn't be surprised, but I still am.
Ok does anyone think the Ted is planning to sign another QB? There is enough guys out their now.
I would say they have their eyes on the continued health and well being of their starter.
EDS as starting center may state otherwise.

PackerJerruh?
Nice work Ted. You just cut Michael Jordan.
A rookie or second year QB might be ok for development as 3rd stringer. I think for a #2 I'd want to see someone with some experience, maybe a Trent Edwards, Jimmy Clausen, etc. Trying to resurrect Young was a nice thought but I think they really expected Harrell to show something this camp. I think we just discovered the limits of MM's miracle QB school.
At least Blanda could kick.
Favre is good at photography.

of small objects.
Surprised the hell out of me. This is one of those times when I just remind myself MM and TT know way more then I do about their team. In a 2-3 game pinch though, I really felt like Young had the better chance of eeking out wins just on athleticism. Here's hoping we never find out either way.
Mike and Ted are making their way down to MS to get Bert off the tractor?
That's awesome... break out those #4 jerseys again.. i know you all wanted to wear them again subconciously.
Ok.. joking. Austin or Bray would definitely be worth a look. Scotty Tolzein is a low upside guy, but he wont kill us turning the ball over either.
Vikings are already meeting him at the airport to drive him to their next OTA's.

Not Purple material.....he's too young.
Can camp fodder technically be called a former Packer? Former Packer Wannabe?
"It’s definitely official I think..."
THAT's the kind of decision making that goes into making
an NFL superstar!
Can you actually retire from something you really never had a career in?
Reverse psychology. He's hoping the threat of retiring will increase demand. It worked for Favre, right? ...right?
