I believe he makes the practice squad this year, but I'd bet the farm they draft someone new to challenge for that developmental role.

I think they could very well do this unless there is a cut today or a dirt cheap trade that is too tempting to pass on.

They could also go a game with no dedicated backup and have Cobb in the emergency role.

I'm hoping they'll push the reset button after their catastrophic handling of the backup situation, but we'll see.

Meaning Simms is the best QB for the Jets. Eeeeegads talk about screwing the long term pooch at QB.

I'd be ok with giving McElroy a look. Good athlete. Deceptively fast. Well spoken. Well versed at handing the ball to Alabama RB's.

That is some funny stuff. Well done!

Chillijon, there's no question about that.  At this point, I can only imagine the Packers would be looking for an intelligent QB who can be a quick study, and someone who won't lose the game for them by making bad decisions.  That's about the best you can hope for at this point.

McElroy isn't any worse than Matt Flynn IMO. They actually have similar attributes. Average athletically, good enough arm strength and very smart. He's not a guy who can lead a team to the SB and can't win games on his own, but can run the system like he's supposed to and can get the ball to the playmakers.. I wanted McElroy 3 years ago in the draft.

What NFL team do you work for?

Part owner but I like to take an active role.

PackerJerruh?

A rookie or second year QB might be ok for development as 3rd stringer. I think for a #2 I'd want to see someone with some experience, maybe a Trent Edwards, Jimmy Clausen, etc. Trying to resurrect Young was a nice thought but I think they really expected Harrell to show something this camp. I think we just discovered the limits of MM's miracle QB school.

Surprised the hell out of me. This is one of those times when I just remind myself MM and TT know way more then I do about their team. In a 2-3 game pinch though, I really felt like Young had the better chance of eeking out wins just on athleticism. Here's hoping we never find out either way.

Mike and Ted are making their way down to MS to get Bert off the tractor?

That's awesome... break out those #4 jerseys again.. i know you all wanted to wear them again subconciously.

Ok.. joking.  Austin or Bray would definitely be worth a look.  Scotty Tolzein is a low upside guy, but he wont kill us turning the ball over either.
