This was a really unselfish decision btw. Kudos kiddo.

It's a big divisional game obviously, but a bye week looms right after this game. Packers will do what's best for the franchise QB regardless including long term.

Guessing it's a lot of rehab, "treatment" for Love this week and MLF plays the will he or won't he game to keep the Lions guessing who starts.

+ Gumption! MFing Gumption!  This team still has work to do, but I think it says a lot about the coaches, players, and cohesion to pull out this W.  All of you know the circumstances, but good teams can win games when adversity hits.

- I think we're seeing the league's adjustments to JL.  I have no examples or the football knowledge to verify.  Let's just say I'm not surprised.  He was a relative unknown last year with pressure, but no real history to set expectations.  Now the pressure is on and it appears he hasn't adjusted as fast as the defenses.  The hope is that he figures it out.

+JL, "figuring it out" leaves us with a phenomenal QB.  He has his faults yet is still a hell of a QB.

- Injuries could slow the timeframe of JL, "figuring it out"

+ I LOVE being a Packer fan!

- I have to work next Sunday during the game.

Weeks 5 & 6 when Love was right physically....Tell me about those adjustments.

I disagree because I've seen Love read these defenses and torch them time & time again.

Just think back to the Lions, KC and Dallas games last year then Cardinals and especially The Texans this year. Texans defense is top 10, maybe top 5.

Only thing I'm worried about Love is getting healthy.

Good point, Boris.  I guess I'm trying to come up with a reason why we are not seeing the JL from the 2nd half of last season. 15td-8int this year.  I was hoping he would build on/continue how he ended last year.

Main reason? Health.

He's got the knee brace on. And without any extended time off, that MCL injury is likely going to wait until the end of the season to fully heal. MLF and others basically said as much. Hell, Gronk talked about that on the Fox pregame as well.

So that's a factor.

Paws

+ Josh Jacobs.  I wasn't sold on him being able to replace Jones.   RONG.  Just as effective as Jones but also durable.

+ Tucker Kraft.  This guy was born to be a Green Bay Packer.

+ Willis.  Wow, guy comes in and leads the offense as if he is a 5 year starter.   Not easy to do and he made it look smooth.

+ X and McMancus.

+ Gute.  See the above list.  Those 5 FA signings are the reason we are not sub 500.

Negs

- Pass rush continues to be sub par.

- DB talent is lacking outside of X, Williams, and Jaier.   Nixon sucks and Bullard is looking worse and worse as the season goes on.   No depth at CB to speak of.   That can be managed if you have a pass rush.   See neg 1.

- Love continues to throw INT's in bad situatations.    Cannot turn it over in the red zone in the first half.   No reason to force that ball, move on, take a sack, or throw it away and fight on.

- MLF clock management at the end of the half.    Gave the Jags the ball back when we didn;t have to.

That was an absolutely fantastic play.  The way our defense was playing, there was just no way I would have trusted them to hold onto a 7 point lead even with less than a minute to make a drive.

Now, maybe it would have been a different story if we still had a crummy FG kicker, but McManus looks good so far.

+++++ McManus. Comes in and does his job! Edgerrin Cooper. This kid can play! Josh Jacobs. He is tough as nails. I did not mind it when he replaced Aaron Jones. I hated it when Jones went to the vikings. Chris Brooks. This guy really showed his smarts by not running into the end zone, but instead, got the 1st down and dropped to the ground, inside the 5, to burn the clock. Love guys that think. Tucker Kraft. Packer People Plus! Another big day from the Jackrabbit TE. Malik Willis. Best back-up QB acquisition Gute made, except for drafting Jordan Love. Devonte Wyatt. Disruptor on the DL. He and Karl Brooks may be our best DL players. Nice recovery of the fumble deep in Jags territory! Xavier McKinney. Xavier McKinney. Xavier McKinney. Romeo Doubs. He's looking like he wants to play. Jayden Reed. Always a threat. The Win! Ugly as it was, it moved us up over the vikings, in the North standings.

------Lack of a consistent pass rush. Zone D looking a lot like a Barry scheme. Just stop it.  Lawrence saw the DBs 15 yards off the LOS and ate our lunch passing underneath the coverage. Rush the QB! Injuries to Love, Evan Williams, Jaire, maybe Jacobs, and anyone else. Get healed up! When Williams went down, Hafley shifted Bullard to Williams spot, moved Nixon to Bullard's spot. Don't know who played Nixon's spot. Rashan Gary. He seems to be too slow to be a 4-3 pass rusher and has a hard time getting around the end of the OL, to the QB. Maybe that's why he isn't getting home???

Still say the best part of the Coop fumble was D-Wy jumping on the ball like it was a hamburger on the loose...

It was the D-Wy shove/shoulder that did it for me. I saw the ball, but I thought D-Wy was going to be beaten out by the Jag player until D-Wy dipped a shoulder into him and shoved him aside. It was like, "Dawg, no way. That's my burger."
