When did x4 get so whiny and soft?  One game doesn't go our way last night, and suddenly the sky if falling.  The Falcons won at home.  Did that really shock anyone?

The Packers need to win on Sunday--and I don't believe that will be easy--and then we'll go from there.  Win out, and I'm confident we'll get in.  The teams we're chasing all have some difficult December schedules:

  • Seattle - I see three tough games and finish with a tough division game.  Two losses are very likely.
    • @ JAC
    • LA Rams
    • @Cowboys
    • AZ
  • Carolina - We play them, so we only need one loss in the remaining three games.  That is highly likely, with those games involving a good Viking team and two division games.  ATL will be playing for something that last week.
    • Minn
    • Green Bay
    • TB
    • @ATL
  • Atlanta - Three division games, with two on the road.  The Falcons did not look great last night; they were lucky to escape with a win.  Two losses in these three games is very possible.
    • @TB
    • @ NO
    • CAR

IF we can win out and get to 10-6, I believe things will work out.  In addition to the difficult games, this is the NFL - upsets happen on a weekly basis.  Getting to 10-6 will be the hard part.  Let's hope we get past Cleveland (that game worries me), get Rodgers back, and go from there.

I think right now there are 6 teams up on the Packers for the playoffs and they are tied with Detroit who has the tie breaker for now.  Can it be done absolutely and I agree with your post.

For me right now it is all about beating the Browns.  Because I know if they lose to that team you haven't seen whiny and soft if they lose to that dumpster fire.

Seeing as how we are all predicting another infamous demise of our favorite turnip head rivals, I will say it doesn't happen.  Not saying they win the Tool Shed Bowl (does this make it a giant outhouse?) but I'll guess they don't embarrass themselves this year, however it happens.

Regardless, I still don't think we'll get in to the post season and the 12/23 game will be our SB.

Interesting.  I wonder what the odds were last year, when everyone laughed at Rodgers' "Run the Table" declaration.  Any time we have #12 under center, I like our chances.  Unfortunately, we don't have that this Sunday.  That's why this may be the most difficult game out of the remaining four.

Carolina will be the most difficult without question. Even with Rodgers.

If they can't beat this Browns team, no matter who GB starts at QB, they don't deserve to go to playoffs period.

I think this is accurate...

If GB loses to CLE, and then wins out. The only way for GB to get in the playoffs at 9-7 is for ATL to finish 8-8, and then 3 of these 4 teams to finish 9-7 or worse as they'd have head-head tie breakers.

CAR, SEA. DET, DAL

1 of them can go 10-6 or better, but if 2 do, of course GBP is done at 9-7.

MM is going to show patience in working with his project QB. Just like he showed patience with Mason Crosby and Dom Capers. Atleast he got Crosby right, but overall some of his decision making to date has been questionable....Hundley, timeout usage, challenges, clock management,  strategy(NFCC debacle),  assistant coaches, and then the coup de grace in Capers.  He's been a very good coach but it might be time for a mover and shaker a.k.a.  "fresh blood".

The Vikings won't choke?

The years 1998, 2000, 2009, and 2015 would respectively disagree.

What would make this year so sweet is if it was the Packers that ended their season in their house.  For some reason I have a feeling that could happen.  Think Rodgers doesn't want some payback?

I'll fully admit that I don't have a lot of faith that this team can win a Super Bowl this year even if they win tomorrow and Rodgers comes back.  If somehow they do win the Super Bowl, then case closed/hands down Aaron Rodgers is the greatest athlete in the history of the universe if he can make that happen with the mediocre coaches and players that currently surround him.

He might be the greatest in universe history already, but that would make it absolutely a done deal  that he is the greatest of all time, better than Babe Ruth, Michael Jordan, Wilt Chamberlain, Usain Bolt, Tom Brady, etc. etc. if gets this team to a Super Bowl title this year.

From the link I provided:

So who should I cheer for?

The Packers. Else, why are you reading this?

Tampa Bay, at least in Week 15 and 16. The Packers want the Bucs to beat Atlanta this weekend and Carolina the next one. In fact, if Tampa Bay can win both those games (haha), the Packers are in great shape, because in our win-out scenario, they will have officially passed Carolina and moved within one game of Atlanta. The Packers don’t need to catch Atlanta if they can also bypass Seattle, but it would be one more opportunity. There’s a chance we’ll want Tampa Bay to lose in Week 17 to shore up the divisional title for the Saints, but that’s too complicated to predict for now.

The LA Rams in Week 15 (and probably beyond). A win over Seattle is a huge boost to the Packers, because it would put Green Bay past Seattle in tiebreaking standing (in the Packers-win-out scenario that we're using) and also make it very difficult for the Seahawks to win the West, which is what the Packers want. The Packers might still wind up in a tiebreaker with the Rams if the Seahawks get past them, but that creates a more difficult scenario for the Packers. For now, cheer for the Rams.

The Saints in Week 16 and 17. Feel free to cheer for the Jets to beat the Saints in Week 15, since that keeps a Saints-could-lose-out scenario in play. Whether the Saints win or lose, they’re still in position to lose a tiebreaker for the NFC South and get in the Packers way as a Wild Card contender. But Green Bay wants the Saints to take that division (and beat Atlanta in the process in Week 16) and be removed from the Wild Card mix, so cheer for them in their final two games of the season. Saints losses only benefit the Packers if they lose all three.

Dallas in Week 16 and Arizona in Week 17. Beat those Seahawks.

Cincinnati in Week 15 and Chicago in Week 17. Beat those Vikings (both of you, else it doesn't matter).

Best scenario

Packers win out. Seattle loses once more (preferably against the Rams) and doesn't wind up winning the West. Carolina loses once more after losing to Packers. Playoffs!
