Goodell has succeeded in making these officials scared to make the WRONG call. As much as players and fans are confused, officials are now commissioned to not F*** up on the field, which of course leads to this kind of garbage. You've oversaturated everyone with rules under the false premise of player safety, but you're going to get guys hurt as a direct result. This is downright embarrassing for everyone.

If I’m the defensive players of the league we get together and agree to do just that until the league admits the error of their ways.
Matthews is completely screwed. It's a contract year for him, and if he can't get credit for sacks, his value is pretty close to nothing. I've been watching the NFL for 50 years, and I've just about had it.
