The dweebs at the NFL, worded the rule incorrectly. The reason the kickoff OOB was placed at the 25 (instead of the 40) was because they kicked off from the 50, due to the Packers Unsportsmanlike penalty on the previous play. (25 yards from the kickoff spot).

Stupid loophole - proper wording should be "Kicking off OOB is a penalty that places the ball on the 40 yard line."

So credit to the Texans for recognizing that loophole & not allowing an All-Pro kick returner to return the ball.

Enjoy that L, Texans 🖕🏞😈

As significant as any scheme changes, Hafley’s willingness to bench undeserving players where better options were available (even, gasp, a veteran former 1st round pick) has been awesome to see.

Yup....in the past, I thought it was Gutey telling coaches (former DC's) who to play (Maybe.....maybe not)....that's clearly no longer the case and MLF is letting Hafley cook. It's a beautiful thing

I'm not really concerned with Love's interceptions. At least not yet. He's a young QB and he is still learning his capabilities on a football field. Young QBs need to make mistakes to learn. Nothing drives me crazier than a head coach dumbing down an offense for a young QB and finish with a stat line like 23-34 for 172 yards 1 TD and 0 Ints. Yeah it makes for a winnable game and pretty solid season long stat line but playing it safe on every pass prevents the young QB from turning into a franchise guy. Then the fans get pissed b/c the QB never becomes more than a game manager. We want Love to be franchise QB who can win a game at the end (like he did today).

Obviously this depends on Love learning from his picks. But I think he will.

Watching the game again, my DVR’d copyâ€Ķâ€Ķ.they really don’t look badâ€Ķâ€Ķdefense was really goodâ€Ķâ€Ķthey’re young right??  â™Ĩïļ is young right??   It’s only been 7 games, yikes, that seems like a lotâ€Ķâ€Ķok, I am feeling better.   âĪïļ  ðŸ’š  ðŸ’›

Positives:

Any win in the NFL you can get is a positive.  Win and move on to the next game.

The defense clamped down on the Texans pretty well and I even hear Gary's name a few times something that has been missing lately.   I also think they are starting to play with an edge on defense.  An attitude that we are here to play real defense now and that has been missing for a LONG time.  Hopefully they keep it up.

One thing I am noticing is that Houston is a pretty physical team and in the past this would be the type of team they would wilt against because they play big boy football.

The Packers are playing well but I have this feeling they haven't really played their best yet.  If they stay healthy that level is coming soon reallly soon.

Negatives:

I don't really have any negatives that was a good win!

Mahomes top WR & top RB are both out with injury. Kelce is old and a Swiftie.

And yet KC is currently somehow 6-0 and coming off of another Super Bowl victory after Mahomes also put up mediocre numbers in 2023.

Teams can and do win games playing good defense, in fact that is what occurred in Lambeau yesterday. Packer fans are just unused to seeing the defense lead the team to victory.

Love is a potential SB winning QB â€Ķ as long as his defense (and Special Teams) do not resemble what we’ve seen in Packerland since 2011.

+ Whilst I hate 23's yapping, maybe that border skirmish woke some guys up and set their hair on fire!

I usually am the type of fan to say shut and play football.  BUT, I think #23 is yapping to get the team fired up and that IMHO is what happened in pregame.  He wasn't backing down to that turd Diggs and the rest of the team had his back.  I really think the players on this team are really coming together and playing with an edge.

+ I forgot to add the extra time after the 3hrs on my DVR and assumed i missed the final minutes.  To my disbelief, it cut off about 10sec after McManus's leap.

+ Was not a fan of the alternate uni's when they were revealed online.  But shown against the backdrop of the lambeau turf, they looked pretty sharp.  They are wholly different from yet perfectly in tune with their historic versions.

Thought this was funnyâ€Ķ

Brandon McManus (the hero of today’s game) already has TWO nicknames from his new teammates — “DAD” and “UNCLE” 😂

That’s because the kicker is the oldest player on Green Bay by TWO YEARS!

McManus also told reporters after the game that making the Lambeau Leap isn’t as easy as it looksâ€Ķ

“I always heard it was taller than you think,” he joked. “But this is a historic, historic place. I was super excited.” 💚💛

alsoâ€Ķâ€Ķ.he hasn’t attempted a field goal for 287 days!!!!

Andy Reid built a solid defense, a novel idea.

Maybe we are in the process of building one as well?

The Packers RB gave the touchdown ball to Jordan Love who hit a big milestone of his own on the touchdown.

Running back Josh Jacobs has racked up over 1500 receiving yards in his professional career, including 117 so far in his first season with the Green Bay Packers. It may have been surprising for some fans to learn that he didn’t have a single receiving touchdown in his 5-year career with the Las Vegas Raiders where he rushed for 5,545 yards and 46 touchdowns. In fact, just a few weeks ago Jacobs set the record for most receptions in a career without a touchdown, breaking a 30-year-old record held by Gerald Riggs. Well, the Packers managed to restore Riggs to his rightful throne this week in their 24-22 win over the Houston Texans.
