Aaron Wilson of Scout.com reports the Green Bay Packers auditioned a trio of defensive linemen Monday, according to a league source with knowledge of the situation.

They tried out defensive ends Robert Rose and Hall Davis and nose guard Sealver Siliga.

Davis is a former St. Louis Rams fifth-round pick who has also played for the Washington Redskins and the Tennessee Titans.

Rose went undrafted out of Ohio State and was signed by the Seattle Seahawks before being cut and then spending time with the Miami Dolphins on their practice squad last year.

Siliga played at Utah and was with the San Francisco 49ers during the preseason.

McKinnie is playing decent at OT since the Vikings let him go. Not outstanding but far better then was expected.

If a team like GB signed Williams, and he played as well if not better then Howard Green does Queens fans will be

You'd have to love the irony.

I'm guessing lining up next to Raji would do wonders for his effectiveness. Not that I want that guy on our roster.
IMO TT wouldn't even consider signing Fat Pat unless Raji, Pickett, or Green went down for an extended period.

And if I'm not mistaken, he would still have to serve a two-game suspension upon signing because of STARCAPS.

Nope, it was served even thoug he wasn't signed.

Former Vikings defensive tackle Pat Williams has served his suspension while being unsigned. If/when he joins a team, he will be required to pay a fine in the amount of two game checks.
If he wanted to sign with GB can he do it or does some rule apply where we get last dibs from winning the SB?

I know there are waiver wire rules but Im guessing that wouldn't apply here..?
I think he's free to sign anywhere. He may be used up, but he was still pretty effective for the Vikes as recently as last season. He didn't destroy OLines like he used to, but as I said, he wouldn't provide anything less than Howard Green. Let Fat Pat anchor the middle and move Pickett back to DE where he was more effective. Throw in Clay, and at least 1 of those guys is getting a 1 on 1 which any of them could win.

I agree. At least bring him in and see where he is at physically. He was solid clog last year. I'm sure he has something left...if he hasn't "let himself go."

At least it isn't James Lee - who I might add, is available. Roll Eyes

Williams is worth a look. Probably has more usefulness than the 3 guys who just got kicked.

That does seem to be some pretty nice quicks. I wonder what an average speed is for an interior lineman that size?

How about making him a two-way player? Maybe a blocking TE? Never can have enough of them.
