+ + I enjoyed this game the most of any this season. Payback on Vikings was sweet!

Packers played their most complete game. Love and the O shined.

D made plays and didnโ€™t allow sub-par QBs look like all-stars. Jefferson a non-factor despite Jaireโ€™s absence.

- - Injuries and a few hiccups that I donโ€™t need to revisit.

Get ready for Bears, similar scenario to playing Lions last year. But Packers are a different team this year! #gopackgo

+ The offense had drives of 12, 12, 14 and 14 plays yesterday.  That is a formula for success - it shows the O isn't making killer, self-inflicted mistakes (like it was earlier in the year) and keeps the D off the field and fresh.

+ The OL was very good for the most part.  Held up to blitzes and the run game was good throughout (I know Aaron Jones is a big factor, but still).

- Injuries.  Hope Myers and Reed can play against Bares.  McDuffie will be missed if he can't go.  Sounds like Watson may play?  Curious if Alexander go.

+ Well-coached and well-executed game in all facets.

I'll just repeat one of my reactions from last week's game:

It is stunning how much more 33 adds to this offense.  How much more burst and vision and balance through contact he has. SO underrated in the league. He makes our OL look like elite run blockers.

If you want to feature Reed in your offense, then you need a backup on the roster that can play his role so the game plan doesn't fall apart if he gets injured.  Melton is that guy. Not an equivalent but good enough in Reeds role.

Edit: Melton looked even better than just a Reed stand-in last night.

Jordan Love missed 2 gimme TDs and still finished with 256 yards and 3 TDs. Wowser. He has exceeded everyone's realistic expectations this season ... other than Bakersfield's own YA of course.

Jayden Reed is that quick, dynamic slot WR that GB has missed since well about forever. So fun to watch. Just hope, given his slight frame, he can remain healthy.

Bo Melton has played himself on to the 2024 roster and that spot is his to lose after the last 2 weeks. Great to see.

Tuck will get a special mention elsewhere.

Aaron Jones is approaching 30, expensive, and has been injured much of the year. He also makes the offense go when he is healthy. The difference between Aaron and the plodders behind him is unmistakable.

The OLine was superb. Zach Tom is becoming a stud and Rasheed Walker is playing better than anyone could expect out of a 7th round pick.

As for the D, I may not despise the Queens as much as Tundra or Packiderm, but I'm close ... and even I felt a twinge of sympathy for the obviously overmatched Jaren Hall. Damn, he was brutal.

Give Joe B credit for finally learning that blitzing/confusing a young QB is the right approach? Nah.

But I will credit CBs Valentine & Ballentine for looking no worse (if not better) than 1st round picks Alexander and Stokes.

(No negatives when exposing the rot that is the Minnesota ViQueens franchise and their fair weather fans on national television, but I will say that Toure is the anti-Bo Melton).

It was so cool to be on the sidelines watching him for two years at my high school. Previously had seen Cody Kessler at a neighboring school carve us up and thought Jordan was in the same mold. No doubt he benefited from three years under Arod instead of just being thrown out there the way Kessler was.

All positives last night except for the injuries and the Toure punt fiasco. Where was Nixon? Gassed?

Had some Viking fan (and Packer fan) friends over for the game and New Years. I tried out the "Smells Like a Packers Win" candle that I got for Christmas. I committed to lighting it at halftime no matter what. No lies, I thought that candle and Joe Barry might erase that 20 point lead at halftime.

The Packer fans had a great night. Vikings fans did too, just not during the game. The ladies got to count down to midnight in the hot tub. Great night overall.
