Like I said in the chat room. Imagine Harrell working with #1 line and Ced carrying the load. He'll miss a few receivers, but it could work. The #2 OL sucks.

Ced would have 40 carries per game and Harrell would still complete 50% of his passes. He's not good.

Agreed. O line depth looks terrible. But if AR goes down there is nothing there.

With as little time as GH has had, its really too hard to say, with top flight talant he may be able to be service-able.

But it gebbins with the OL and we could barely afford to lose 1 guy at this point. I sure hope to hell that Sherrod comes back soon, but the silence frightens me much.

Harrell looks like hell but this is a bigger issue. Harrell will look better behind a starting oline. Let's hope none of those guys get hurt.
Hear ya toad. Completely agree.

Regarding #2 QB, I'm going to look at tape of Harrell from game 1 to game 3 again. I think he has progressed during that span. I agree with whomever said the Pack was rolling the dice at #2 QB this year. I think he's improving. I don't know if he's ready yet. MM certainly knows whether he has a player or not, doesn't he?

TT better be calling around for a trade for a back up qb.

I seriously doubt this happens. Obtain and develop is the method. A guy fresh in off the street... it'd take him half the season to learn just the playbook. Pretty sure we'll stand pat with what we got.
and GH had this to deal with as well:

quote:
Crabtree’s injury hamstrung coach Mike McCarthy – and, in turn, backup quarterback Graham Harrell – when Taylor went out, leaving only Bostick at the position.

“Frankly, I don’t know if you people were aware of this, we had a lot of offense that went out the window in the second quarter (after Crabtree’s injury),” McCarthy said. “The offensive plan for the No. 2 group was minimized greatly by our tight end situation.”

Finley, meanwhile, was home in Green Bay spending time with his new son, Landon Dash.

“Jermichael came to me this morning, he got the phone call about his wife being in labor and so we got him the quickest flight that we could to get him home,” McCarthy said. “He’s where he should be right now.”

This might be the first team in the history of the NFL to only roster 1 QB

We can use Cobb in the wildcat if the worst happens

Why sacrifice a roster spot for a guy that flat out can't play?
Imo the PACKER 2nd string OL has much poorer performance than most NFL teams, that said Harrell doesn't have much time to make a decision. His play is
substandard. The PACKER coach & staff have alot of time, money and effort invested in him. It would be difficult to admit at this point that they have wasted their efforts on him. I believe he'll be on the team after the final cut. If he still is struggling to play better after the last pre-season game I suspect the PACKERS will be scanning the waiver list for a vet QB.
From what I have seen of other teams this year, I think you can only say that the Packers 2nd string O-linemen have performed poorly. There are teams out there that can not field 5 quality O-Linemen.
I think many teams tried to fill the glamour positions and ignore the O-Line. Now they are paying for it. (Example Dallas)
and the jets
