Again, they strand runners in scoring position, common theme lately.

"Milwaukee, however, stranded the bases loaded in the eighth when William Contreras struck out to end the inning and had to settle for the narrow defeat. It wasted an excellent outing from newcomer Aaron Civale, who allowed only the one run in 6 1/3 innings during his first home Brewers start."

Pretty boring game for Ammo to be at.

I’m not panicking, but I am concerned that we’ve been basically playing .500 ball since the start of June.

The injuries are frustrating, and I understand our reality is different that other teams in bigger markets with more revenue. And the pitchers we’ve picked up fairly cheap have done a pretty good job overall. Keuchel and Civale have each had strong last outings.

I’m hoping the All Star break will provide rest and a fresh start to the second half of the season, and maybe we can get back on track a little bit. At some point, we should get a couple of our pitchers back, including Devin Williams, which will really help the bullpen. Williams and Trevor Megill will make for an utterly fantastic closing duo. They will shorten a lot of games for us.

Overall I’m happy with where the team is at, especially considering how young it is, and that nobody expected them to be this good this soon.

Good game actually.  Had seats in the shade Sec 109, half way between 1st base and right field corner.  While on the bus to the game I texted my daughter who lives in milwaukee and she replied back she was going to the game too. So I got to see her and my newest grandson who is 9 weeks old.

On to the game. Skenes made the Brewer hitters look not very good. The fly ball outs were only medium depth and the ground outs were easy plays. I bet he was pissed being taken out throwing a no no into the 8th.   Civale pitched well but Murphy left him about 2 batters 2 long.  I guess he was trying to get him a win but the team win was more important.

The 2 hits off Holderman in the 8th were legitimate hits but when Monasterio failed to get the bunt down that changed the whole complexion of the inning.  Contreras only had 1 good pitch to hit and he fouled that off.

And the ninth was anticlimactic. But all in all a fun day. Sorry I couldn't get the win.
