What a sad ending to what should have been one of the most iconic sports personalities of all time.

I figured it would end about like this. Once football was out of his life he probably thought he had nothing else to live for. You see this often in older couples. Once one dies the other goes pretty fast.

Too bad. He accomplished an awful lot. What a way to go out.

If 6 months ago, I'd given you 1,000,000 to 1 odds that many people would take pleasure in Joe Paternos death, who would have taken that bet?

I don't know if there's so much pleasure in it as much as there is regret. 60 years of good can't be overshadowed by much, but this qualifies.

He made a big mistake but let's hope that people remember all the good that he did too.

lets hope people remember all the bad he did as well, so maybe some other dumbass coach doesn't let the same thing happen.

It's hard to process Joe Pa's passing. I guess I feel he was a generally good guy who somehow was able to overlook something heinous.

It is something how human humans can be.

Time will allow us to see the good he did. I really find this this very sad.

It is important to always remember the good that he did but as ELK points out, got to remember the bad here as well. God forbid anybody else is presented with a similar situation it can be handled much much better.
