agree with all the positives. Starks, Shields, Raji, Rodgers, Woody

I thought we went way conservative after we got up 14-0 and it almost came back to bite us.
Im not sure if it was prevent D that we went to in the 4th, seems like we couldnt get to Vick in the 2nd half after hitting him often early.
I guess they made adjustments. When the blitz didnt work they killed us with that middle drag. so maybe thats why we only rushed 3 for alot of those plays.

shutting the o down woulda been a huge topic had the D not risen up again on the last drive for the 2nd straight week.

Need to stay aggressive in ATL
+ Packers win a playoff game
+ Packers win a road playoff game
+ Dom Capers has the defense playing extremely well
+ Our CB play allows Capers to play aggressively up front
+ Rodgers had the offense clicking at times
+ Run game (STARKS)
+ Bush covered well on punt/kick coverage
+ Akers coughed up a rare bad game in his illustrious career

- Jones with the huge drop
- Fumbles by Rodgers(2), Kuhn, etc...luckily we got on all but one
- Underwood allowing himself to be dragged into the ballRoll EyesThat is crap by the NFL to allow tha t to be a legit play

Booyah !! Packers win and are going to face the media darlings in ATL.

Wasn't that Bishop with the shoestring tackle?

No
+ Starks
+ Passing game the first 3 quarters
+ few penalties
+ Jackson
+ TW
+ VICTORY
+ Bend/don't break defense worked
+ David Akers

- James Jones, again
- put the rock on the ground too many times, fortunately they got all but 1

I thought it was Bishop as well and I just watched the highlight?!?! Who was it? Maybe a season saver...

Rodgers comments to Pam Oliver after the game when she asked if it feels good to get the monkey off his back. His reply "never felt I had a monkey on my back". Touche'
Matthews
Quarless
S/Ts
Couple good play-calls
Collins hit on Selleck

-
Couple bad play calls...again
Poor officiating
Jones
Driver's knee (he's got one year left...maybe)
In some of these important games, Capers seems to get too soft on "D"

You are correct, it was Bishop.
3 biggest plays of the game were all defense.

1) Clay Matthews stuff on 3rd and 1. That was a possible 7 point play because Akers missed the FG the next play

2) Bishop shoestring tackle - another TD saver

3) TW int. I get sick watching that play though because he thought he was down in the EZ and was running around with the ball before he realized they didn't rule him down in the EZ
+
Jackson screen pass TD was a thing of beauty. Expertly run. Needed.
Bishop. Glad he's locked up.
Rodgers. Did what he had to do. Frequently.
Starks. The guy is a horse we can ride to the Super Bowl. Just watch next week.
Shields. The pass defensed on the long bomb was a thing of beauty. This guy is an NFL starting CB. How lucky are we to have him.
Beluga. Struggled lately, but played decently today.
Colledge. Got dinged with a penalty, but made up for it on Jackson's screen pass TD.
Wells. Lots of praise from Rodgers after the game for his pre-snap calls. Gets no respect, but probably deserves some.
MM. The screen pass TD was the perfect call.

-
James Jones. After that TD flub, he's dead to me.

Call me a fool, but if we beat Atlanta, I think we're headed for Qwest Field for an interesting NFCC game.... NOT a gimme if that happens...
+++ Pretty much everything, but BJax's td catch on the screen was a thing of beauty. He waited perfectly for his blockers.

--- The shivers I got when Philly picked up the 3rd and 14 on the series when it was 1st and 25 after a holding call. That play reminded me way too much of the 4th and 26.

The Kuhn plunge on 3rd and 1 has officially jumped the shark.
+ didn't get too drunk
+ I think the D played exactly how they should have. IMO, the game plan was "we can move the ball and score on the eagles, let's not give up too many big plays."
+ AR first playoff win
+ can listen to sports radio for another week

-Jones
-Pretty sure I PO'd my wife and scared the dog and kids with the yelling

No doubt this was advice from Steve Young, who always said he regretted saying "someone get this monkey off my back".
+
Starks
Jackson
OL
Entire defense
AR (other than the fumble)

ST Underwood has no business whatsoever being anywhere near the ball in that situation.
Jones
Thought the offensive and defensive playcalling got a little too conservative late in the game.

That's just not true though. He was 5 yds away from the ball and #30 clearly knew what he was doing and the rest of the guys obviously were coached to not touch the ball. #30 grabbed him and shoved him towards the ball and then when he missed the first time pulled Underwood towards the sidelines where he finally hit the ball with his foot.

I finally noticed that around 10PM after seeing the highlight numerous times. Nice work by Peprah to get his butt down!

I thought it was mostly dumb luck but his teammates maybe should have noticed what was developing and started blocking Philly guys and Underwood AWAY from the ball. I suppose then they would have gotten a block in the back penalty.

Really a great heads up play by Philly that they got away with. Throw this play into the mix of rule changes for next year.

Are you seriously suggesting Underwood was blameless on that play? There's no need to engage the opposition players and he needs to get away from the ball so he won't be in a position for something like that to occur.
+Total team win. Every facet played well (excepting the bull**** Underwood call)

- MM is reading times four and laughing at me. I make one little suggestion about flipping Matthews and Walden for a couple of snaps. Bastard laughs at me and flips Clifton and Bulaga instead.

putting the ball on the ground (fumbles)
- too conservative offensively late in the game - gotta play action on 1st or 2nd at least once

Late in the game, was that Starks 12 yard run huge.

One was a penalty, another was the tuck rule which isn't enfored except for NE QB's. Kuhn at least recovered his.

+ Packers won

- Packers didn't lose

BTW, Rodgers now has more playoff wins than Cutler and Ryan. Wonder what Ratface talks about today?
Anyone watch Bulaga? Understand he's a rookie, out of position, poorly coached. But it seemed like ever time it was put pass blocking, he was getting shoved back like a rag doll. If this had been the Super Bowl, it wouldn't matter, but as the team finds itself with tougher opponents, just wonder if this will be a major problem.
Tramon is too awesome. The return against da bores was a turning point that openned the door to the playoffs. Then he puts a wedge in the door with the interception to keep it open another week. He barely missed a pick early on a square out that was an amazing play too.

MM not pushing the envelope at the end of the first half while not being a fan favorite may well have been a great move. The moment was clearly with the Eagles after a dropped TD by Jones followed by a score for the Eagles. Facing a third and long choosing to run the clock out was a good call.

Can't wait to see what Tramon does next week to tear the hinges off the door.
+ Rodgers made clutch decisions all-day, no mistakes
+ Starks! – earth to B Jackson..note the speed and force used to hit the hole!
+ Jackson’s screen pass run was great, but unfortunately that’s the way he runs most of the time. He doesn’t have time for that on a typical running play.
+ I loved it when Vick fall-down and go boom on that incidental pass-rush contact, and I think it was Raji who just flapped his hand at him like ‘so-what you big dud faker’

- End of half clock management
- Not agrressive enough on the last drive(s) (it worked out, but I’m throwing a couple passes
- Jone’s drop – but I’d go right back to him next week – coaching staff needs to prop him up for our SB run, and worry about next year after the season. He is also capable of making great plays. DD has had some drops/fumbles too – gotta keep the team together.
it's mentioned in MM's presser but I was unaware that James Jones has a thumb issue. that doesn't help but it also shouldn't be an excuse. if you're out there and get two hands on it catch the dang ball.

Thats a great point.

If I'm MM, I need everyone in the WR corp staying positive and upbeat if they are going to continue to advance.
If I'm TT, I'm making changes at the WR corp for next year knowing I probably have Finley back.

I agree... Shields play allows for Capers to use Woodson as a spy on Vivk.. Results in minimal damage by Vick rushing and no big plays over the top to Jackson.

They've gotten Jones singled on the outside a number of times this year, but I couldn't help but wonder if Nelson comes down with that ball. Granted, Jordy may not be able to beat his man like Jones did- maybe he can't and that's why Jones is on the field, but imo Jordy catches that ball, and he has proven a bit more reliable than Jones.

I agree about the end of the first half, MM took a shot and it didnt work as Jones somehow dropped a perfect pass. Jones will bounce back and be a part of more playoff wins. But the fact that MM has a defense to lean on is critical. If the defense is not producing like it is this year then MM would feel the need for the offense to do more and maybe put them into situations that are turnover prone.Gb had alittle luck yesterday as they fumbled multiple times and didnt lose the ball every time. MM didnt want to push it after the Jones drop as GB had the lead and he has a defense he can depend on.

Capers defense this year has been great and allows GB to win every week by holding the opponents score down and allowing MM to call the offense like he wants to instead of trying to put up 40 plus points to win a game.
