I had high hopes for both Randall and Rollins after their rookie seasons in '15. What a disappointment they have both turned out to be. Just the latest in TT's growing list of early round defensive draft busts.
Video of this play is so much worse than the stills. Randall bailed out and let things play out without his involvement.
Randall needs to be cut. Heâs not wired for this.
I would have effing loved to be in the room when everyone watched this tape today.
But when he does make a tackle or a defended pass, he acts like he was the first to do it....Pipkins has some of that in him also
Photoshop would show him getting distracted by a passing butterfly.

Kenny Clark is a future stud.
Josh Jones and Kevin King look like keepers.
Blake Martinez and Dean Lowry were good 4th rounders.
He missed on Randall and Rollins, but he's had some hits lately.
Randall=Ahmad Carroll
Rollins=Joe Thomas.
GM's make mistakes. It happens. They miss on picks. Come the 2018 draft and/or FA, Ted needs to do the right thing and move on from both.
It's been said before, needs to be said again. The bigger mistake isn't drafting a player who didn't pan out, it's hanging onto that player despite the evidence he's a bust. Move on Ted.
Another reason M3 was so salty in his presser today.
I never believed in Rollins. Slow footed and not very instinctive while not having size.
I honestly believe that Randall has some ability. Not as a starting CB but as a package DB. His mental mistakes keep tripping him up and he couldn't tackle Peyton Manning in the open field. But he has instincts. Kind of a tweener (most NFL scouts felt he was a safety) like Micha Hyde but without the toughness.
Did I mention the Packers need to examine their training staff going forward? I did? Underline it. Some of these injuries aren't simply bad luck.
thanks for that. I tried to have the guy's back last year while he was playing hurt but this is a bridge too far. this nauseates me. bailing on battling with his teammates, hoping they can clean it up without him. that's no way to play a team game. if your teammates can't trust you to do your part you are hurting the unit.
I've seen enough. that boy ain't right. and yet we'll have to trot him out again this weekend cuz the rest of the unit is in the infirmary. ****
edit: and you know, he already did the least, but at least he could have taken those blockers to the sideline to close that lane since you know help is coming from the inside. this really pisses me off... dude needs to turn in his man card.
Wow.
just wow.
I don't know who this kid is. Doesn't resemble his rookie self in any way.
this came to mind as well
Reminded me a little of Sterling Shapre late in career in game vs. Browns(?), DB intercepted pass in front of him & instead of attempting to tackle him, he ran out of bounds & stayed there.
Simply embarrassing to the Green and Gold and I would not want him in my foxhole.
Toughness isn't something he's really shown much of.
Took a while but I found a video. Holy balls is this embarrassing
Completely lost out there. WTF?
I'm going to really go out on a limb here and drop the possibility that because they were angling toward the sideline he thought the RB might cut back inside the lineman. It looks SO unbelievably bad that that is the only other explanation I can fathom. OR he at that moment just pooped his pants and thought a little spin would distract everyone from noticing.
From his Packers.com bio
First name is pronounced duh-MAIR-ee-us
Terrible on-field awareness on that play. Did he turn away from contact, maybe. I watched that play and a few others for DR and he took some horrific angles on Sunday. The back-end of the defense was listless after AR went down.

I'll place a bet on the latter.
"What would Lombardi do?"
So shortly after being sent to the showers due to a conflict with his coach(es) before halftime a couple of weeks ago against the Bears, Randall blatantly runs away from a tackle in Minnesota.
Either MM and the defensive coaching staff are convinced that Randall can be salvaged or they are so desperate at CB that they are willing to overlook his damning conduct or a combination of both, because I cannot remember another player in MM's time who has acted this way and basically gotten away with it.
exactly
Jesus fu*k. That's pathetic. He should be fined by the team for that kind of effort.
He should have his a** laughed all the way off the field -- by his own team. I bet the Viking Olinemen were laughing their heads off.

He IS rolling in his grave.
Would love to get a shot of Randall's reaction after Blake Martinez sold out and tipped the ball into his lap for the interception.
You'd have thought Randall made a spectacular read and jumped a Tom Brady throw to Edelman the way he immediately self-celebrated rather than acknowledging a teammate's great effort that led to an easy interception.
Wonder if the scuttlebutt about Joe Whitt supposedly being less than pleased with Damarious is accurate and wonder how his teammates truly feel about him?
All the pathetic celebrating on our defense is embarrassing....

Not that this excuses his acting like a pussy, but did anyone else notice #65 diving at his knees?

Just another thing that has turned me off the game the past decade. Watched very little football this year, follow the Packers on the internet. A few years more and that too will be done with.

He should have been diving at their knees so that a teammate could come in after a clean up with a tackle. How many times have we seen other secondary players have to take on a pulling guard? It happens every week, he just bitched out.
So hereâs Kenny Clark getting off his knees WITHOUT using his hands and making a play on the RB for a short gain.
I can tell you with absolute certainty Kenny Clark saw the tape and wanted to beat 100% of Randallâs ass after heâs swallowed up double teams all year so he could free up a teammate to make a play. Itâs the highest degree of individualism.
Iâve played enough defense in HS and college to know Randall is dead to this defense. What he did there canât be forgiven. He canât be trusted.
#65 hardly came close to hitting him. Randall managed to avoid #65 and every other guy in a purple jersey.
Iâll take ANYONE on defense before Randall. You canât play defense unless you know for a certainty all 11 on the field are fully invested. You donât have to be great. But you have to support the collective cause. Fackrell is another guy that doesnât look wired for this. Too passive.
Clark has been a beast and Martinez as a tackling machine has proved his worth the past couple of weeks as well. Wonder what they thought when they saw the film of Randall wimping out? I'd want to beat the %#%$ out of him.
You have to think that the rest of the team just loathes that effort.
He has to be cut, I saw it as it happened and was screaming at the TV. That has to be the most pathetic act I have ever seen in my decades of watching professional football. He make the matador look like a tough guy.
Clark was engaged with the OL and used his hands on the OL to get up.
Not everything is as Fennell reports.
Should be said again, I would have taken 36 over 23 any day. No, Gunter didn't have his raw talent, but he sure as **** wouldn't have volunteered his man card on that play and would be busting his balls on each and every play.
Rumor still is going around that Perry was none to happy Gunter got cut. The more you see of Randall and his "effort", you can certainly see why he would be pissed.
I'd be pissed too.
Iâd take Hayward over either. Iâd still like to know why he left town for couch change. Maybe he wanted out. Maybe GB didnât think he was worth it. If so who didnât think he was worth it? Ted? Dom?
Thereâs a story there.
And Gunter isnât good. Itâs Rolle all over again.
