What's been impressive is that it's not like the Brewers have been playing the Astros lately.  They've had a tough schedule and have answered the bell.

Liriano pitched good enough to win but Peralta was better and that made a big difference.  In general, the starting pitching has been very good and if that continues this team can be in the mix.
Yes, beating Atl in the opener (albeit one game), Boston, Philadelphia and Pittsburg so far has been most impressive. I just love it. Starts and ends with pitching though. It keeps the Brewers in every game which is key. Just like 2011 when the staff was loaded. If the pitching can stay healthy and keep this up, there is no reason why this success can't sustain.
The Gallardo turnaround is a big factor.  It makes you wonder if last year was just a blip because he logged innings in the World Baseball Classic, I don't know.   All I do know is that Melvin looks pretty damn smart right now not trading him and Ramirez when they were out of contention in 2013.

The other factor is that it could have been easy to send Peralta and Thornburg back to the minors late last year but in retrospect it was smart to stick with them because that positive momentum has certainly carried over into this year.
It's interesting seeing the Pirates kicking the ball around all series's- gold glover drops a routine fly all, and it costs the the game. Then the Brewers score how many runs off errors today?

It's all clicking right now. They're proving that when they have all their horses, they can wins lot of games.

Another thing a of Mark Reynolds- the guy hit  37 HRs just a couple years ago. He will have his ups and downs, but he's an outstanding position in the IF.
