TDog good research and I just wanted to point out that on one of Bart Starr's Alabama teams (53 Cotton Bowl) a tide player committed one of those blatently unfair acts Bama fumbled the ball trailing 7-6 at the opponent 5 yard line and on the next play the Rice player was racing for the TD a bama player tackled him along the sideline> The ref called the penalty and advanced the ball to the endzone and awarded the TD!

Maybe if a team gets a turnover in overtime, they should just be nice guys and let the other team have the ball.

The rule is probably OK but I wish they'd just have it during the regular season too.

Under the current rule, a play like Pat Lee's safety on the opening KO would end the game.

Lame.

there was no senerio where Pat Lee's safety wasn't lame

It's crazy to have different rules for the regular season and the playoffs.
