No attempt to touch the base, Utley should have been called out MLB rule 7.09(f)

Baseball umping is as bad as NFL reffing.
I hate the Cardinals. Everything about them.
But I hate the thought of Cubs fans celebrating a World Series FAR FAR more.
However - the Cardinals bowing out again in fhe playoffs is pretty cool and Chicago losing in the next round would be nice
I hope a sinkhole in the shape of a goat consumes the stadium and all in it including the team and their f-ing arrogant front office nerd dweeb a-hole team president.
I have never developed the hatred of the Cubs growing up with the Crew in the AL and the lovable losers on every day on WGN. Note me as one who is happy we don't get to watch those Dirty Birds anymore.
And by golly, I just may have to root for them to beat the Dodgers if that is the case.
It would almost be symbiotic if the Astros take out the Cubs in the WS.
Wow, just realized the Astros are an AL team. All these years I thought they were in the NL Central.
Maybe it's just me & I don't have a horse in this race but seeing the Cubs beat the Cardinals was pretty special.
108 years with no playoff series wins in Wrigley. Streak is over. Up next? Break the curse?!?!
I'm rooting for the Cubs. Used to love watching them on WGN with Jack Brickhouse.
Long before the strike year where they took away our playoffs & WS.
Astros moved to AL just recently
Astros moved to AL just recently
AH!
The ONLY good things about the Cubs is that they beat the Cardinals which I did enjoy A LOT. I have always had a soft spot for the Cubs. Why you may ask? because of their history of bringing misery and broken hearts to FIB's everywhere since 1908! I just cannot root for anything sports related in Chicago EVER.
The original Back to the Future had a scene where a flash news item in the air had the Cubs winning the 2015 World series against Miami.
BTTF II
Run the damn bases.
@GeoffMosherNFL: Somehow, PFF has graded Daniel Murphy at -8 this NLCS.
The goddamned Cubs are gonna win the World Series.
I hate everything.
toldja
I just can not believe that the Cubbies never had the lead for 1 pitch in the whole series. Oh wait, it's the Cubs, never mind.
Well, I'm pleased that the Cubs got swept. I'm shocked honestly.
They are still set up to be very good for a while...
Cubs lose
Dream from heaven
Have you seen Pete Rose on the pregames? Time to check into the old folks home Petey
I am a Royal/ex-Brewers fan.
At least we have Grienke.
I enjoyed that playoff run. That team was all set but the damn Dirty Birds were on fire. No one was going to beat them during that month. Ask Texas.
World Series appearances:
Ned Yost = 2
Danny-Boy Attanasio = 0
That's right Danny-Boy, you fired the wrong guy in 2008. But looking at the bright side, at least the Attanasio/Melvin brain-trust landed the organization a top five pick in the upcoming draft.
There's no question Melvin probably overextended his welcome but I can't people anyone would actually clamor for Nedley.
I think they are starting over and that's the right approach. The offseason moves are going to get them pointed in the right direction
When aren't they starting over? A bit facetious perhaps but I hope they get it right this time, get/develope and keep some guys.
They were in the playoffs in 2008. They were in the playoffs in 2011. They have been going for it since 2007 up until this past season. They haven't started over since the early 00's when they brought in Melvin.
And, while I don't think anyone is thrilled, they are in desperate need to start over and load up on young talent as they are in the toughest division in baseball, and being mediocre won't do a thing.
This is where the Brewers are now. They are rebuilding. The Cubs just did it- and they're looking strong for the next few years. The key is they have to hit on these picks. Build with bats, hope to hit a few pitchers, then trade a couple pieces to get the ace if you don't have one.
That's the way it's done. We're in year one. Gonna have to be patient guys...
And be a place and team that can keep that talent together.
The common theme with those clubs is they all hit rock bottom and had several years of Top 5 picks. That adds up to guys like Garrett Cole and Chris Bryant (among others) and the Brewers need to follow that model
When aren't they starting over? A bit facetious perhaps but I hope they get it right this time, get/develope and keep some guys.
Yep the Brewers with the exception of a couple of years has been starting over. So meh what's one more time/
Being bad enough to not make the playoffs but good enough to not get a very high draft pick does not equate to "starting over".
