Shields. That was a silly athletic INT.

that was a horrible pass. granted Shields used his speed to catch up a bit but if that pass is thrown where it's supposed to be it's six points.

Cliftons knee? Is it ok?

I ain't no expert and didn't hear postgame comments but from what I saw I think he got leg whipped in the shin. That's why he didn't want to come off - them shin bone bruises just hurt.
Disagree on the Shields INT. Any long ball like that gives him 1-2 steps of room to use his insane closing speed to make a play. Shields still gets there if it's a better throw. He may not pick it off, but he at least gets a hand on it.

Now, his tackling or total lack thereof makes Darlene Sharpier look like Ray Lewis, but that's another issue altogether.

Totally agree with this post. Time to get somebody in Walden's slot that could make at least 2 moves.

Hearing a Vikings fan this morning say he would put a poster of Rodgers on his office wall since ARod got him 55 fantasy points yesterday!

Pass rush. Why not move CMIII around a bit or try some stunts? I wonder what would happen if you put Raji and CMIII next to each other? Or have them mix it up with stunts? I worry about our pass defense a great deal -- especially the lack of a rush -- and in its current form, would not want to see Brees again. In a few weeks, Rivers might take us apart.

Overall
A win is a win is a win no matter who you play! Big Grin
Paws:

- Rodgers is a god.
- No special teams melt downs
- MM going for the throat early with 4th down and onside.

Negs:

- Newhouse got abused. He looked like hell at RT in preseason too. LT seems to be the only place he is competent. Get well soon Bulaga, if not, you might have to consider Sherrod.

- Pass Rush. They desperately need someone to step up and win the occasional 1 on 1 opposite Clay. Wynn had 1 good game, Caly is doubled 80%, nobody else is getting home. I'm hoping So'oto is given the chance next week.
To be fair to Newhouse, he held up really well against Julius Peppers the previous week. Von Miller and Elvis Dumervil have rare speed for the position, so I'm not surprised he struggled. I didn't look at the time, but I would be interested to know how he held up against them in the run game. I'm not ready to give up on Newhouse, I think he will have a solid rebound game against Ray Edwards or John Abraham next week.
Teams have enough film on the current Packers defense to know they can attack the linebackers in the passing game and also that running against them when they line up Pickett, Green and Raji is a bad idea, for example. It's a consistent chess game, especially since the Packers are seemingly short a second good pass rusher so they can't line up and run very often and be successful.

Yeah I had read that too. If I wasn't lazy right now I would do the digging to find it. But of course, the NFL is dynamic enough that personell, injuries, and even crappy luck just happens.

FWIW, he was head coach with Carolina, and at that point, you are a manager of all aspects and probably wouldn't have the time to assess every minute bit of the team. Add in injuries and depth, then you end up with what you got.

We all know Dom is old and... hopefully, appreciates the position he is in. ROTTT keeps finding players to help out, he doesn't have to do it.

*shrug* and so what if it turns out we have to be a 2009 saints-like team and score 40 a game?

As long as the number one player in the league remains upright, I would put my money on Dom's D, no matter who Ted gives him to work with, can hold the others to 39.
