Payton made some smart choices in the second half. Brees made him look smart on several 3rd and long or 4th downs.
Schwartz continues to lead with emotion. Lions have a very tallanted team. Maybe more tallanted than the team they lost to this week.
Why is it I get the feeling Brees wont be able to just sit in the pocket and pick the Niners apart like he did the Lions, the Niners are going to pressure him the whole game and get some ints, the Saints on the road outdoors are very beatable as they have proven this season and the Niners are a very good outdoor team who will end the Saints season next week.
The officials need to call holding on the Saints OL. There were many plays where the player was tackled at Brees feet or collared to the ground. Brees also has the mindsight like TOG did in making throws he shouldn't be making. The Niners need to pick those off unlike the Lions.
Schwartz complains constantly about the refs after every loss and it's getting old. Don't they ever fine this guy?
his "first down" gesture on the sideline was comical. Certainly a guy who doesn't know the joke is on him
Saints are a much different team at home than on the road. They might be the toughest team in the league to beat at home. Their road record? Pretty average.
SF doesn't have the weapons but that is going to be a slow track and I go back a few years ago when they went into Chicago on a slow track and got schooled. The Saints might have a better running game now vs then, but Brees and Payton can't help but keep passing the ball to run up the stats and the score.
If the 9ers can hit Brees and limit the big plays I think they have a chance to win. If not, I look forward to hopefully a rematch at Lambeau the following week.

Exactly! You just nailed it.
Lions are talented. They also displayed better discipline in the first half of the game. Even Suh was helping Brees off the ground, right after he sacked him. They're on their way. Look out for the Lions in 2012.
Saints will have their hands full but I have a feeling they won't turn the ball over vs. the Niners. Going to be a tough playoff football game that I can't wait to see.
If the Saints had HFA, nobody beats them. I'm hoping the 9ers can, but I think its NO vs. GB for the NFC CG. The last team with the ball wins.
I've been looking fwd to the NO @ SF match-up for a few weeks now. Should be a very good game. I expect NO to win, but would not be shocked at all to be proven wrong.
I have a feeling GB will be facing ATL in the div round.

This is yet another term in the TD vernacular with which I lack familiarity. Could you explain it?

That was 5-6 years ago. I think the Saints blow out Frisco.
Pack/Saints would be the matchup everyone would want to see but I have to say I am a bit uneasy about either the Dirty Birds or the Giants next weekend.

That pretty much guarantees it's going to be a good game with the Niners winning.

Of course you are. You're a Viking fan!
One of the many reasons last year was special was the fact the Packers beat the best teams in the playoffs - none of the other teams were flukes. I do not think the 49ers are in the same league as the Saints -but any given Sunday. Right? Anyway, odds to me favor the Saints and a small part (very small) of me would like to see GB take on the best.
It will be the Giants. Vengeance will be so sweet! Matt Ryan sucks on the road. Atlanta have no chance.

Im still sticking with my theory that there is always one upset on WC weekend and that ATL will upset the Giants.
What, no Denver over Pittsburgh??

I agree and really I do not care - Packers will defeat either one in Green Bay.
Ryan to date has generally sucked in the postseason regardless of location. Today would be a good day to turn around the perception that he can't win the big game, although I'm skeptical it'll happen.

TD also does it after wins and after games where the other team got screwed more often.
Cannot wait for this matchup! Saints v. Packers is the way it has to be, and whoever wins is going to win the super bowl.
My buddy is a huge Saints fan and he keeps trying to get me to admit that the Saints are the best team right now. HA!

After watching Saturday's game, no way do the Saints come out of SF with a win. All the Niners have to do is bottle up the running game, and Brees will toss it up for grabs. I look for something like their sorry work in the NFCCG against the Bears.
Get ready for the Niners. They'll test us...

It's not an upset if it's God's will.
not so sure about the Niners. They haven't been tested enough this season. I don't see them hanging with the Saints.
