Need to win one of these road trip series..might as well be this one. I hate Manny Machado.

Or, as G Steinbrenner called him after another October failureβ¦.Mr May.
He grew up with Paul Molitor and Black Jack Morris in StPaul.
The Brewers have a guy pitching I never heard of or knew they had. So two games in a row we go with a call up. Rowdy and Machado with HRs, 2-1 Brewers.
Molitor and Winfield hit back to back for the Gophers. Winfield was also on the basketball team that was involved in a famous brawl with Ohio State. https://www.dispatch.com/story...ke-witte/6553737001/
Great first outing for Colin Rea.
The Brewers just have to get Bush out of the setup role. Every hitter seems to get to 3 balls and he's prone to the home run. Walking Carpenter to bring the tying run up is the cardinal sin of baseball.
Bush ends up throwing 27 pitches in that inning. Now Hader is in.
Devin, 3 up 3 down in the 9th.
Unbelievable play by Adames. Not many players will do what he did.
Brewers win Payamps closes it !
Great win. I thought the game was lost when the Padres tied it in the 8th. West coast wins are hard to come by. Adames saved the game by throwing out the lead runner at 3B in the 10th.
It was great Yelich stole third which gave Tellez the sac fly for the lead. Such a close game at the end there. What a win.
I missed the game, but it looks like Rea had a decent debut.
Highlights for anyone else who missed it.
Man, that last pitch by Payamps had some kind of movement.
Rea has actually been around a bit, even in Japan. He's 32 years old and you can't help but pull for a guy like that who has stuck with it so long. He pitched a great game and looked a lot better than Junk did the day before. They only took him out because his pitch count was in the 80s and he had only done about 60 so far this season.

He has incredible stuff but he's going to keep you on the edge of your chair with it. Without that play Adames made that game goes to the 11th inning.
BTW, Vinnie Rottino is an excellent color man. His scouting experience really shows up during the broadcasts. Better than Rock and definitely the heir apparent.
Love me some Bill Schroeder..heβs comfort food.
Gotta fully acknowledge what Rea did yesterday. He gets called up from Triple A. Flies out across the country from Nashville to San Diego probably with all the gear and uniforms he needs to play. Meets up with the team, immediately gets the start in an away stadium with 43,000 fans in attendance. Then goes out and pitches a gem thru 6 innings. The Brewers didn't announce the starting pitcher for the game till the lineup card was submitted. It was TBD until then. Rea may have gotten in town only a few hours before the game for all we know. What a day for him !
I thought I saw he was with the team a couple days. This was a planned start as a 6th starter so I doubt he traveled last minute. That's not to take away from his performance. Junk was probably sent down when Rae joined the roster and he will stay and get a couple starts replacing Woodie, he was better. Let's hope Lauer can give us a similar performance.
Iβm taking one for the team tonight - Michael Wacha is on my fantasy team. Great start by the offense.
Great start. 4 runs in the 1st. Now do your thing Lauer.
10-1.
FINISH THEM!
Looks like the Brewers really put a beatdown on the Padres. I didn't see this game because I went to the Las Vegas Aviators game. They brought up their #3 prospect from AA, Mason Miller, to pitch in this game. 5 innings of no hit ball with 11 Ks. The only guy that reached was a WP on a strike out. He topped 100 mph 23 times. https://twitter.com/MLBPipelin...Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Etweet

Pound the Padres
The Yount catch is the one that everyone remembers because it was the last out but Jim Paciorek made a diving catch in LF in the middle innings that nobody talks about. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_sHSesUrsiM
Good stuff. Forgot about that.
Sat. batting order:

RBI double for WInker !
Hello Wanker, welcome back to the lineup, what a beautiful swing he has. Sweet double to drive in Yelich, already 2-0
well, f...
well, f... x 2
A walk and a few cheap hits and it's tied. Freddie threw a ton of pitches in that inning.
Lugo drills Winker in the arm with the bases loaded, on a 1-2 count way to take one for the team. all tied up 3-3
Every HR the Brewers give up seems to be a wall scraper to RF.
Freddy having a hard time getting out #3 today.
