Predict the Heroes: Divisional Playoff Game vs. Cowboys (1/15/17)

Offense: Geronimo, two TD passes as Cobb draws double coverage.

Defense: Perry, two sacks, one INT.

Hero: Dallas' bye week. I honestly believe that's going to screw up that rookie QB along with EE. Elliot also didn't play in week 17 IIRC.

If Perry can pull in an INT with one hand and a club, he's the game's MVP.

Herb Waters forces a fumble on a late punt return, setting up the Packers' game-winning touchdown.

Speaking of Perry, has anyone seen anything about when he could play without the club? 

Jayrone Elliott was a full participant yesterday.

Jayrone somehow seems to make big plays....

Agree with Y.A. and Hungry.  If Jayrone plays, he could be the unsung hero of the game.  Quickness and either getting a sack or forcing a poor throw.

I called CM3 as the defensive hero this week and I will again this week.  He doesn't get a strip sack and fumble this time but a INT late.

On offense it will be Michael running the ball.

Jordy doesn't play, but he persuades MM to throw a key challenge flag when the refs fail to call a Prescott INT.

Joe Thomas and HaHa will be the heroes on D. HaHa works over the rookie, Thomas will be strong against the run.

Cook and Michael will be the heroes on O. Cook keeps finding those holes in the zone. Michael zips through an over-aggressive front 7 who are thinking pass more than anything.

If the Packers win, it may be in large part because Morgan Burnett prevents Jason Witten from going wild.

On offense, let's go with Geronimo!

Ez Elliot fumbled 5 times this season. Something tells me a 6th is coming this Sunday.

Captain Caveman is going to make a game changing play on special teams.

The only thing Janis is due for is another bone-headed play. Like block in the back on a punt return TD.  Or not trying to get back on the field quick enough as a gunner.

Well, I am going to ignore that rule. I think Richard is due for a big game and so is the other TE Jared.

Mike Daniels up the gut dislodges the ball from Elliott on the goal line causing a GB recovery and the dagger with GB up by 6 with 8 seconds to go. 

I have serious angst over the ability of the Packer defense to hold up. A win would have to make Dom (and crew) the hero.

the GBP D during the table running has given up the following points per game:
13, 13, 10, 27, 25, 24, 13.

a team effort in all 3 phases and no TOs and I have no doubt the GBP will win.  at this point, not afraid of anything!  kick their ass, make jerruh cry!

Those point totals were run up by garbage time scores by Bears, Vikings and Lions after game was no longer in doubt

The numbers I would love to see for both the Packers and the Cowboys are the point differentials for each game.

Of course I prefer they put the game away COMPLETELY like they did against the Giants and Seahawks, but the point totals and D performance when the game was in the balance has been EXCELLENT.

Point differentials last 7 games:

Packers - Home +8, +28, +13, +25

          Away +14, +3, +7

Cowboys - Home +10, +5, +4, +21

          Away +2, -3, -14

The Cowboys as a team don't seem quite as dominant at home as the Packers are at home.  In a close game it seems like it would be easier for the Packers to score quickly if they have the ball, but it would be easier for the Cowboys to run out the clock and keep the ball away from them.  As others have said, it will be important for the Packers to get a quick lead.

If Rodgers, Clay, HaHa, Burnett, Cobb, Cook, Adams, Bak, Bulaga, Lang, Daniels, and Ty don't play well there won't be any heroes. 

No heroes from the division round on unless the best players are best. 

Winning a Super Bowl is hard.
