So is Janis! cut before or after he makes the Pro Bowl on special teams?

Yes.
Disagree on Masthay and Janis. Janis stays for special teams, Masthay is gone. Look at who TT lured to GB--a hometown boy RENOWNED for his ability to hold for kicks. The guy won awards for that. He knows he's got to keep Mason on track, and the last punter they brought in was hopeless for that. The guy also has a stunning array of different kicks.
Goodbye Ginger!
hasn't even kicked in an NFL game and you've anointed him, wow. I'll wait to make sure his nickname isn't BJ Sander.
If the ROTTT has taught us anything, it is that the veteran on the roster always has the advantage
Janis is Bush lite.

I see your point, but go check out what he did in college. We got a good one and didn't even need to use a draft pick.

BUT the rookie will be much cheaper and it might help with the cap.
I expect Masthay to play out much the same as the Mason Crosby episode did. Don't see a change unless Tim has a meltdown during camp and forces the Packers' hand.
You misspelled Hundley.
Nice hair.
He and his buddy Binkley were a great team.
He is right. It is premature.
I don't understand why they won't just let Janis TRY punting? I mean his legs move so fast when he's running so why wouldn't they move fast while punting? Dumb coaching move.

It's Hedley.
I'm just surprised Janis hasn't overtaken Aaron Rodgers as QB1. Rodgers must have pictures of TT to keep his job.........
I'd be pretty shocked if Janis is cut so long as he shows some improvement at WR. He's a damn good gunner which, believe it or not, is a position that every team has to fill twice and it's not easy. We get up in arms for every punt return over 10 yards but when it comes time to actually keeping a player who is good at special teams, it's "cut him, he's not as good as Jordy Nelson at WR!!!".
Janis brings 3 things: high performance on multiple special teams units, potential at WR, and a cheap contract. No one else on the roster provides those three things. So why is he going to be cut? Yes, eventually his "potential" at WR runs out which would likely get him cut. But IMO, that potential has at least 1 more year. Used to take WRs threeyears to "get it" in the NFL b/c college offenses were so primitive compared to NFL offenses. That's converged a little in recent years at the bigger programs, making it easier for WRs to contribute early. But that's not happening at Saginaw Valley State and it shows with Janis. But this is a big year for him. If he isn't able to consistently play on offense, it's his last year in Green Bay. I just don't want to see him cut too early and go on to have success in Minnesota (who has already put a waiver claim in on him).
What does Jarrett Bush have to say about that?
Here's the latest mock 53 done by the pros as training camp opens.

Might be a good idea to actually see the new players play before deciding who's going to make the 53.
WR is really going to be an interesting competition. Still skeptical about them carrying seven but I have no idea who would be the odd man out.
Could Abby be that odd man out? Not that Janis is a better WR, but Janis is a beast on ST's. I hope not. I like Abby's upside...he just has to get "bulked up" a bit. Maybe Eddie can give him a sandwich once in a while.
Six or seven good wide receiver's, should be a good crew when it all shakes out by the end of camp.
This is a very talented and deep roster.
The spot that is the most uncertain to me is the defensive line....Raji bailed, Daytona Jones gets moved, Pennell is suspended, etc...the only knowns are Daniels and Guion. Really need Clark to be good and take over at NT. After that we need to see a rookie or street guy step up like Lowry and Ringo to earn some playing time. Sounds like the Packers like this udfa Brian Price-big body at 318 with some quickness and from a small school. I recall an article on him saying that even though he played at a small school his tape against big programs was impressive. We'll see
I love this time of year.
Like last year, I do wonder what (if any) offers TT will get for JC Tretter in a trade. He's a starting calibur C who can also fill in at LT in a pinch. To me, that's a lot of trade value. And he's an UFA in 2017
My guess with WR is that one of them (Monty leading candidate right now) goes on IR....until one of the remaining 6 gets injured.
Montgomery may stay PUP, and remember Goodson is suspended for a few games so Janis! may start in that "Special Teams" spot and see what injuries happen or how things shake out.

I'm probably in the minority, but I trade Linsley before Tretter.

I see one great WR and 5-6 WRs who could not shake press coverage last year. Once Denver set out the blueprint that press coverage shut the offense down. They were downright terrible at times. If I'm Jax and MN I am putting press coverage on everyone until AR and the WRs can show they can beat it. Most are excited about the WRs so hopefully this is just a little bit of the 70s and 80s doubt coming out of me. Cook may be the wildcard too, another threat we didn't have last year.
DL and LBs (inside) should probably scare me more than the WRs. Having a dependable defense would be a nice change.
That said, I think both AR and McCarthy were embarrassed by the offense last season and I think both will be coming back with something to prove. Sprinkle in good luck on the injury front and an OL playing for new contracts and this team should go deep into the playoffs.

I think Tretter will be starting at one of the Guard spots in GB next year.
The dreaded blueprint.
I think Tretter stays before Lindsley. Lindsley moves to backup guard or RT for the inevitable injuries happen.
From YaYa's link.
"Expect Adams to get the first crack at the No. 3 job, but Janis isnβt far behind and could earn that role sooner or later."
Janis being a ST ace does not make him the #3 WR. It does however, keep him on the 53.

Lindsey has the strength to play guard, that is for sure. Draft profile raved about his power lifts and I imagine it's only improved as a pro.
My prediction as of today is Beniquez Brown makes the roster and Joe Thomas gets cut with Burnett playing more in the box in passing situations.
Janis stays, Geronimo to the practice squad, Goodson gone, Robertson Daniel stays.
Is that based on anything you've heard of BB? I've seen/read nothing.
There were a couple of bits about him doing very well filling the gap on short yardage plays and he was good in college. Martinez also appears to be playing well in space and they can also do some things with Matthews. That and Thomas wasn't much good against the run and with Burnett lining up closer a lot so far leads me to think Thomas may not have a space on the initial 53.
