HONOLULU β€” When Cam Newton goes long to catch a deep pass in Sunday’s Pro Bowl, remember where you heard it first.

Yes, you read that correctly.

The Panthers’ QB was hamming it up with the military personnel on hand for Thursday’s practice at Hickam Air Force Base and was the star of the show.

Newton was sent out to return an Andy Lee punt, which he proceeded to drop, much to the dismay of the hundreds looking on. Newton later closed out the practice by lining up wide and catching a nicely thrown ball, about 50 yards down the sideline, from Aaron Rodgers.

β€œDid you see that?” Packers wide receiver Greg Jennings said afterward. β€œHe looks really fluid and natural. It’s kind of scary.”

But Jennings doesn’t intend to lose β€œvaluable” practice time to Newton.

β€œAs a receiver, we’re the prima donnas,” Jennings said. β€œCam, you can’t take reps from us. But there might be something that we can throw out there.”

Is Jennings forecasting a secret weapon?

β€œWe’ll see,” he warned.

Everyone says this, but when was the last time a player actually got seriously hurt during the pro bowl? I did a google search and the best I could find was Brees hurting his non-throwing elbow five years ago.

yeah, the few seconds I might actually see of the pro bowl, my favorite part is watching Dlinemen dance with Olinemen in a completely meaningless way. it's just football at its finest. Roll Eyes

Yeah this play from last year pretty much sums up the pro bowl

Dline/Oline just standing, nobody trying to really tackle or hit anybody. Should do away with the game and just have these guys do skills competitions or something of that sort
