I'm with you.  I'm extra excited since i'm moving to MKE in June and should be able to attend some games next year.

I was worried about the lack of a star or big scorer, particularly with Parker out, but they're beating teams with ball movement, good D, and 5-7 guys scoring in double digits.  Along with Atlanta, they are the surprise team of the NBA so far this year.

Watch the Spurs. Then watch the Bucks. The game has the same feel. Tons of 3 point shooting, tons of passing (and productive passing), long defense, PG the catalyst.

Obviously a long way to go to be at that level, but there's a beauty to their game that I only feel when watching the Spurs sharing the ball and playing smart. This is the kind of basketball we can truly enjoy...

was able to watch the Bucks last night since they were on Boston television.  Pulled off the win despite not really having a big man other than Henson with Zaza and Kmart nursing injuries.

Looking at the standings on NBA.com, you can break down each team according to streaks (longest winning and losing).  The Bucks are tied for second in the East with a longest losing streak of 3 so far this year.  They've avoided the losing streaks by playing .500 ball on the road and against the West.  Giannis definitely stepping it up lately and BK still playing like an all star.

Was not happy when Kidd was named coach due to his many off the court issues as a player. Looks like this roster really likes playing for him, they play hard and compete in nearly every game. Guys like OJ Mayo, Brandon Knight, and Middleton have really stepped up there games. Knight is playing at a All Star level. Got to give coaching credit.

A quick look at the standings reveal why the Bucks are 6 games above .500 for the first time since 2009-10... 6 teams over .500 in the entire conference. 6. The Spurs are the 7 seed in the west but their record would make them a 3 seed and a division leader in the east. Never mind what their record would be if they we're actually in the east.

It's kinda what I though. The east is so bad, even the Bucks are a playoff team. It's ok though- the Antetokoumpo hype has been fun, and he's living up to it. On TMJ this morning they talked about a day last year when he went to Western Union to send home money, then didn't have can fare or anything to get to the practice facility, so he's running down the street. A nice ce couple pulled up and offered him a ride, and had a great story to tell. I hope he stays this pure. He's a joy to watch play, and now Kidd is stacking his minutes. It's working- every game he makes some kind of mind blowing play. Impressive every night. It's going to be a great ride...
Kidd has Knight's attention, that seems obvious. He's playing great, and is willing to defer when someone else is going. I love how from night to night, someone else leads in scoring or has a good night. Bayless, then Mayo, and then Zknight, then Antetokoumpo, then Dudley.

It's a shame Parker loses all this time to grow- but it has allowed Antetokoumpo more time to discover his offense.

It's pretty cool to have a team to talk about.

I think it is important to note how good of a job John Hammond did constructing this team.  He really was hamstrung by Herb Kohl... those "win now" moves of the past and the turds that were brought in before really reeked of Herb Kohls meddling.

He has had a miss or two in the draft, but overall he has been pretty good, if not genius in some cases.

Giannis

Parker

Jennings (yeah i know, but still value - turned into Knight, Middleton, and Miroslav (who was traded as a salary dump for the Clippers.. and they gave us a 1st round pick back to take on Dudley ---- who has been all sorts of win for us too).

Sanders (yeah, i know. .but the talent was obviously there.. Weed fried/booze ruined this guy).

Henson

Tobias Harris (That JJ Redick trade screamed Herb Kohl)... if he was still here we probably wouldn't have Giannis though.. not sure if they would have duplicated at the 3 that next year.. so maybe a bit of a blessing we traded him?  He's not a championshipesque type of a player though.. sorta soft.

Going back to that Jennings trade.  Basically assets we compiled from it were Knight, Middleton, Dudley... and a 1st round pick for him.  Who knew Brandon Jennings was going to save our franchise!  Ironically, the kid might have had his career blown a couple weeks ago at the Bradley Center when he completely tore his achilles.  Tough break.. never want to see that happen to anyone.  But he wasn't very kind about Milwaukee on the way out.. so karma sometimes has it coming for ya.

Anyways.. I love this team and it's potential.  They can do so many things in the future with this squad it is exciting.  Most important is to get Parker healthy, and hit on a 5 in one of these next drafts.  It will be difficult to do mid 1st round, but Hammond seems to be able to pull a rabbit out of that hat in the mid 1st.

When they win their next game.. they will double their season total for last year.

They will likely triple their season total by seasons end.

If you're +30 wins from last season... I don't know how Kidd doesn't win coach of the year.  Atlanta will not keep up the .800+ WP.  I'd suspect they will finish around .650-.670.  They are doing great things too.  But in my opinion Kidd is doing awesome with a team that was horrid last season.

Knight has been a real difference maker for sure.  I did not see that coming.

Middleton and Dudley have also played well and Henson is finally starting to play to his potential.

Going into this year I thought this team could win about 30 games or so if things went their way.   As it stands now, they are on pace for more like 40-45 wins and I don't think anyone saw that coming especially once Parker went down with the injury.

March is really going to be a make it or break it month. They come out of the break with a a home games vs DEN, then at home against ATL and back-to-back in Chicago. PHI, LAL, UTA, and DEN are must wins, because after that it gets tougher. GS, WAS, NO are all tougher games, and after ORL they have IND, MEM, NO, and SA. March finishes at home against IND, MIA, CLE, and GS, then on the road at ATL.

APR should help them finish strong- 6 of 8 against really bad EC teams trying to get ping pong balls. CHI and CLE are the other 2- those will be tough.

They're at 30 wins, and there is definitely room for 15-18 more realistically. If they stay healthy, they really could be a 45-48 team realistically. That's incredible. Never would have thought it. I thought they would be a possible playoff team, but 45-48 wins? And if the sprinkle in a couple upsets 50 wins? That's more than I would have dreamed possible.

Hopefully they can get back on track after two thud games. ATL and Chicago are tough, but they're really getting exposed offensively. 31% shooting???

I'll say this, too- Ilyasove comes back and they suddenly go into a total funk. I was blacked out of last nights game, so I didn't see it, but if it was anything like Sunday, the ball stops moving and they're not hitting any looks anymore.

They weren't going to beat these two teams, but I thought they would be more competitive.

Watched the second half, ugh. Bucks aren't in the Bulls league. Got plenty of open looks but were not able to hit shots all night. obviously the Bulls are a tough matchup but the flow for the Bucks was stagnant, looked tired.  Not sure if they miss Knight, were tired, or Ilyasova just stops the flow.

Chalk it up to playing a really good Chicago team while the Bucks are in post trade transition. Nothing playing Philly can't cure.

Just horrible. A horrible loss. No business losing to the Lakers.

They get out in front and I think they have it. Then they completely unravel in the 4th q. Dudley can't hit a shot anymore. Middleton sits on the bench for most of the 4th. MCW cannot make a shot. Bayless all over the place. And defensively- where is the rebounding??? You cannot give up putbacks, especial in the 4thq. The Bulls shot 39% and still pounded them by almost 20 points. How? 18 offensive rebounds. Same story last night. .
Tough loss... They just couldn't find anyone to be a closer. That's the role Knight filled. They will need to find someone to hit the big shots. Middleton was ineffective tonight. He might have to be that guy for now, but they weren't running anything for him tonight.

Good game, but tough loss. Davis was big down the stretch, and they couldn't find an answer. Henson got a couple real ticky tack calls on Davis, but the stars get those I guess.
Bucks couldn't defend worth a crap last night (especially the first half), but in the end Middleton bailed them out and the D stepped it up enough in the second to beat the Magic. Definitely one that they needed to get.

MCW starting to get more comfortable, now. Still too many their overs- too many thread the needle passes going the other wAy. But they have lost several games of late because they're missing the go-to scorer. Middleton trying to fit that now.

Dudley still mired in a horrible shooting slump, though. Ilyasova starting to knock down shots, and the new kid Johnson really sparks the team on both ends when he's in there. If they can shoot, they can win.
