I have only seen a couple of preseason games but the punts look very weak. Is there another punter in camp and if not why not? The whole special teams, other than Crosby, look like the past few years. This could be the Achilles heel of this team again. You obviously have had different players over the years with the same crappy results. Only constant has been the same ST coach.

Is it April 1st? Are you just messing with us? The Ginger Wolverine is one of the best in the league. Why would they need another punter?
So, Iron is the user name you went with huh? I'd have guessed something to do with THE Ohio State University!
Say hi to Mike for me, what you doing these days BTW?
I'm against it.
The 1st game against Tennessee was in a driving rainstorm. Against the Rams:
Against the Raiders:
Maybe it's Ditka. Mike is that you?
For the pre-season
16 punts (1 touch-back; 2 OOB; 4 downed; 3 fair catch; 6 returned); 43.2 yard avg; 42.0 yard net; -1 return yards; 5 of the 16 were inside the 20
Ok. My mistake. I get it. He's not Ray Guy but he is consistent

Thoughts?
Other than Rodgers I'd agree with you. No sarcasm intended
With the Packers offense, Ray Guy would be a waste of a roster spot.
Great post Iron.

Rodgers???? That ****er completed less than 50% of his passes against the Raiders.

I have fond memories of Tim Masthay not punting once in a playoff game against Atlanta.
"They were the better team tonight."
Never punt. Never try for a FG. Always go for 2. No need for a long snapper, punter, or PK. Certainly one of the fat guys from the OL or DL could kick-off.
Think what Thompson could do with 3 more spots to find players for... and what McCarthy/Capers could do with 3 more TEs or OLBs?
Gingers performance in the 2010 NFC Championship game was legendary. 8 punts. 5 inside the 20. 42 yard average. Hester had 3 returns for 16 yards.

Ray Guy - 42.4 yards per punt
Tim Masthay - 44.3 yards per punt
Live ball era.

We could keep 3 QBs and Boris wouldn't even bitch about it.
Some games Masthay has been really talented, other games he has not. I think Mike is just trying to anticipate his talent level every game, plan accordingly.
How can he do that with his stupidface and all his fat?
AJ Hawk tells him, he makes all the calls on special team too
The only way punting becomes an issue is if Masthay finds his soul.
