Down,distance, knowing the situation, playing odds rather than playing scared. Both those drives were cluster-f's of epic proportion, and playing not to lose. Your star player is out and you don't know exactly when he will be back...you need to steal a win somewhere and when it's in front of you to do, you don't flinch, especially at home.

Pretty sure I recall JPP claiming to have known the call on his pick 6 last week. Nothing to do with armchair qb. MM got predictable exactly at both times when it WAS predictable. Go be happy with a tie if you like, this was a winnable game.

Unfortunately a win is a win.  This was a tie, so by definition it is not as good as a win.  On the other hand, it is better than a loss.  But it's still  not as good as a win.

It was a tie.  This is not soccer. As I told a friend earlier.  Nobody gets a ribbon today.

A tie in the NFL is better than a tie in soccer.  In soccer, a win is 3 points and a draw only worth 1.  In the NFL, ties are worth exactly half of a win.

The 2010 game was in Green Bay. I don't think the Packers have won in Dallas since 1989 and only three since the 1960's.

 

Romo can light it up against this Packers defense.

 

Anyway, let us win Thursday first and then worry about it later.

The Packers suck in Dallas:

Shotgun formation with one back Starks...pass play. Under center, one back, Starks, 6 yards deep...run play...real hard to predict. Doing what they did resulted in not winning the game. If you're ok with that, fine. I have higher hopes for this team, and I believe MM is a much better coach than he showed today, especially in light of the fact that with Flynn you are freed up to do at least a little bit more than with Tolzien. But stick to your one single point cuz it's bulletproof for you.

My single point---it's those who always bitch about the calls when they don't work.  Luckily, we now have the technology to have you showcase your superior playcalling ability in real time, before a play is run, so nobody can accuse you of armchair QB.  I anxiously await your showcasing that ability.

We're all prone to posting some stupid schit in the heat of the moment (i.e. read my comments in the chat room) but the level of stupidity and crap that's been going on the last several weeks on x4 is giving me fond memories of the old JSO or Strib.    Please GB beat the Loins so some of the knobs disappear.

True, but as a fan, I don't need to know or pretend to no everthing about what is going on behind the curtain.  My paycheck doesn't depend upon it, his does.

Lacy was one cut from a TD on that second play where they gave him the ball, and that's with 4 OL blocking for him (don't even get me started on POS Newhouse).  It was the right approach.  It just didn't work.  

 

There's plenty to fault MM on even with obvious hindsight, but that IMHO isn't one of those instances.  

I agree, it is fans that pay for everything (well, a good chunk), but the goal is still to win, not give away state secrets.
