Yesterday was a case study in my theory that I’m pretty damn sure I wouldn’t want to have many of you to my house to watch a game together.

Go re-read the game thread. Most of the usual suspects declared the game over by or in many cases, before half-time. The 3rd quarter and final score clearly showed that as bad as the Packers played in the 1st half, it was a winnable game.

I’m curious. What joy do you get as a fan when you watch a game with mostly negative vibes and comments , as opposed to watching the game with positive hope and comments?

As I age, I find  I actively separate myself from negative people. For that very reason, I wouldn’t enjoy sitting next to most of you during a game.

Enjoy the off-season!

People are emotionally invested, commenting in real time.

I can be emotionally invested without wetting my pants after a 2 yard loss on first down in the first quarter.

Who did that? I know you thrive in your role as above-the-fray guy, who swoops in every so often to scold. I thought you didn’t give a fuck what anybody thought about things because it’s very freeing.

I can hold 2 different opinions at the same time! 😀 You’re conflating my being annoyed as fuck with crybabies with actual caring that they’re crybabies. I just don’t want their bad vibes stinking up the game threads....it’s an annoying drone of sadness. They need to be Lions fans.

Is it time to re-energize this Eeyore thread and ask the posters who have come back after years of no posts, why they’ve come back to be miserable with us?
