Most people have compared Randall Cobb to Percy Harvin, which is certainly a valid comparison. He's a receiver 1st, and does some running. I'd like to see them start to use him more as a runner, given our situation at RB. I'd like to be able to compare him more to Marshal Faulk. We've got plenty of receivers. We should used Cobb more as a RB like Faulk, who many times runs routs. Then defenses, rather than giving a little respect for our running game, very well could fear it. And that would really help the passing game.

I would love to see a backfield of Cobb and Green with Jennings and Jones wide with a TE in to help either tackle. Split one or both RB's wide and if the O-line with TE help wins their match up we could make some big plays. This presents matchup problems for D-toilets LB's and allows us to keep a back in to pick up the blitz. Bottom line is quick releases for AR or blitz pick up from a TE and/or RB. No injuries!!!!! Go Pack!!!

BTW Welcome!
It's going to be interesting with some of the combos and matchups they can create with Cobb and Jennings on the field at the same time. Imo, if this team creates anything special a great deal of it will be due to Jennings abilities. I think he's been a little under appreciated during his time because of the opportunities he creates for everyone else.
You can take a pretty good hit in the KR/PR game, but being rolled on, and tackled in the run game would be more of a concern. When I talk about dinged up, I'm talking about nagging injuries like high ankle sprain, tweaked knee, etc.

Obviously, those injuries can happen in any portion of the game, it's my belief that its a higher probablility of it happening in the run game.
As far as him getting hurt running the ball. He wouldn't necessarily have to actually run it all that often. He would just need to line up there so defenses would *genuinely* have to respect/fear the running game. He would only have to actually run it a few times. Most times he could still be an outlet receiver. The key is that if he lines up there defenses must respect the possibility that he *could* run. He probably wouldn't be much of a blocker though. But if his presence slows down the rush, he has essentially accomplished that anyway. And he could be the dump off guy.
