I'm not a doom and gloom fan, but I don't think there is any hope with McMillian.  I have yet to see anything from him that looks promising.  He was terrible against the 49ers.  His tackling was very poor and that is what I thought he was known for.  I hope he bounces back, but I think that is going to be a weak position all year.  Maybe with Burnett back, it will be less noticeable.

By the way, I think this defense is a lot better than it was for the last two years.  They played a lot more physical and got some nastiness to them.  Jolly being back has already helped tremendously.  I think when Burnett and Hayward get back, it will show even more.  I like this team this year.

You know what perfect pitch is?

That's when you throw the banjo in the dumpster without hitting the sides!

Old banjo joke out of many that your phrase "throw Banjo out there" brought to mind.

We've seen games where McMillian has played extremely well (@ Seattle las year) and also games where he's been pretty bad (@ Colts last year and @ SF this year). I don't think we should write him off just yet, as he is still young and playing a challenging position.

That Kendall Hunter run towards the end of the game that put the Niners in position to take the lead was a very, very poor play for McMillian. He runs down to fill the hole and for whatever reason, instead of attacking the ball carrier, he runs up to Vernon Davis and essentially plays patty-cake with him while Hunter runs right past him. Looked Walden-esque

More tackling in practice will limit ACL and other contact injuries and stretching your own groin will decrease the frequency of hamstring injuries (as well as put hair on your palms - the Sisters told me so).

Here we go again - another "hamstring!" Will MM EVER see the handwriting on the wall and realize that his head strength and conditioning coach of the last four years is losing ball games and players for him?

Players listed today with hamstring issues (either limited or out today in practices)

ARI Larry Fitzgerald

ARI Rashard Mendenhall

CAR Domenik Hixon

DAL Danny McCray

DET Don Carey

GBP Jarrett Bush

GBP Morgan Burnett

GBP Casey Hayward

NEP Marquice Cole

NEP Aaron Dobson

NEP Duron Harmon

NEP Zach Sudfeld

NOS Junior Galette

PIT Shaun Suisham

SEA Cliff Avril

SEA Brandon Browner

SEA Jeron Johnson

TAM Rashaan Melvin

TEN Damian Williams

all those teams should all fire the S&C coach and/or the HC immediately.  that would obviously heal all hamstrings and another one would never happen again.  why can't GM's understand this?

Look.  I realize that hamstrings happen in football.  It just seems to me that when a team has significant hamstring problems with its players year after year, it is a situation that needs to be dealt with.  Maybe the answer ISN'T to fire Lovat. Maybe it's to tell Lovat that he needs to modify training protocols to place greater emphasis on hamstring -pull prevention.  But hearing about new guys with "a hamstring" day after day is getting extremely old.

Has anyone noticed that one thing those guys have in common is that they're all football players?  Someone should look into that.

Edit:  Stevie, I see you beat me to it in making that observation.

Vereen broke his wrist, obviously not enough strength built up from "groin stretching".

Screw S&C coaches, Belicheck needs to hire some S&M coaches.

everyone should have mandatory hamstring removal. you don't pull 100 % of the hamstrings you don't have.

The Falcons need to remove knees it seems.

Julio Jones - Knee
Jonathan Babineaux - Knee
Thomas DeCoud - Knee
Peria Jerry - Knee
Cliff Matthews - Neck
Asante Samuel - Thigh
Sean Weatherspoon - Knee

Roddy White - Ankle

A guy in the first game of his second year and you think it's time for the scrapheap?  He's a physical player with a solid skillset yet you think he's done?  Get back to me when he's going on year 4 and still looks the same.

Banjo isn't going to be some huge upgrade but he's worth having in the conversation considering the options.  Talk about baby and bathwater.

MM: Morgan's further ahead then last week. Practiced more then medical report indicates. How he does tomorrow will determine whether he plays.

MM: Sitton "looked good" today. Will see how he does. Feels better.

MM: Banjo is ready to play. Had good week of preparation.

" Redskins placekicker Kai Forbath is questionable for Sunday’s game at Green Bay with a groin injury"

I bet they bring in Tavecchio and pick his brains for top secret info on the Packers.
