Should be a fun game. I like their chances, but I liked their chanced today as well. Bring 8 into the box, make Peterson beat you going up the middle, have the corners contain the outside, bump the WRs on third down instead of 10 yard cushions, and blitz on passing downs making Ponder make throws.
On the prediction thread I recall someone saying the Pack needed to get out to a fast start. That was lacking today. Had that happened, AP would've been forgotten, and Ponder would have been forced to beat us...
Do we know yet if Randall Cobb will be able to go?

Question...have we had all 4 of our receivers on the field for a whole game this season? Seems that when Greg got close to coming back, Jordy was on his way out. Jordy came back, and now Randall is out again.
Cobb stated after the game he's "100%" certain he'll play next week. Worthy has already been report as out for the playoffs with a significant knee injury. He left the locker room on crutches with a brace on his leg.

not since week 1. and i think we had everybody for the Seattle game. but Greg was playing hurt.
If the Packers spot the Vikings a 14 point lead again in this game they are toast, playing outside in the cold breeze isnt the same as in the dome where they scored alot to come back.no defense againt AP and his playmates means one and done in the playoffs. Frowner
If the weather or field conditions are poor this could favor the Vikings the way they run the ball.

The best case scenario is for GB to win the toss and get the ball and go right down the field and score. Then hold them to a 3 and out and get the ball again and go down the field and score.

In the games they've lost this year it seems like they get behind early and it throws them out of their gameplan. Get a double digit lead on those purple dopes and unleash the blitzes. Ponder was simply way too comfortable yesterday.
Referees:
Note this year the NFL and NFLPA (via the CBA) agreed to have the best of the best officials assembled into new crews for the post season. In the past the crews from the regular season stayed together. In parenthesis after each official is their regular season crew.

You'd rather have Aikmen and Buck???
I think this generation of announcers is the weakest I can remember during the time I've been watching football. There's really no excuse for it either. They have access to more information than at any time in the history of the sport. Aikman in particular really seems to mail it in these days and his lack of preparation is evident during most broadcasts.
I think as much as the guys in the booth it's the guys in the TV truck in their ear and the story lines they try to create for the games. Instead of just analyzing the games they try to create narratives.

Just call the game and do not over commentate or analyze play-by-play. One thing I do not care for from CC and Al.
Who needs announcers?
That's just another holdover from the radio era, when television production was still in infancy. They were obsolete 40 years ago.
If announcers are a necessary evil, I'd prefer them to be like announcers on rasslin', where one guy roots for one team, and the other for the opposition!

Maybe that's the problem. They feel they have to fill every second of the broadcast with some nugget of information.

I always love it when the two hosers announcing are talking about something irrelevant while the guy that determines the camera shots is already showing the culprit who cheated or the guy who actually shined on the play on screen.

This is the problem. How many times per game do you notice that the announcer has to stop describing the action because a graphic has popped up on screen related to one of the game's many "story lines," and he needs to provide narration for it?

If you don't care for the current state of NFL announcing, I would blame the gameday producers before I would blame the announcers.
