Longform about Mark Davis and whither a move to LA. The guy is as eccentric as you think he is.

Imagine the guy down the street inheriting his favorite team. He'd probably hang out with the players after work, watch practice from the sideline and wear team gear 24/7. That, pretty much, is what we've got here.

"Mark has a good heart, and he's smarter than people might give him credit for," says a source who requested anonymity to protect business relationships. "But imagine if you were 56 or 57 years old and never had a job. And then you wake up one morning and you're running a billion-dollar company."

n.b. For some reason this got me thinking about Clan Snyder and who is in line to inherit my local team. Hooboy I smell succession fight.

Owners just voted 30-2 to support the Rams' move to the Inglewood site outside of LA. Chargers have the option to move there as well.

Raiders stay in Oakland, for now.

Chargers will supposedly wait for outcome of forthcoming stadium bid from SD before deciding.

Hope that prick Kroenke loses everything over this.

So glad our team doesn't have to put up with this sort of ****.

Looks like I will get to see the Packers at site of Super Bowl I - LA Memorial Coliseum in 2018 and maybe in 2019 at Rams (& Chargers?) new stadium.              I predict LA  hosts Super Bowl 55 in 2021.

Grew up in Stl. The town is a baseball town, with hockey doing well. With other teams, they are fair weather fans, although hockey may have changed a little. There is a reason there is not an NBA team there and it is not because of the SLU Billikens. Based upon what my dad has been telling me over the years, they dragged their feet with court cases and arbitration about updating their stadium for many years. Yes, it is unfortunate that the name of the game is give me a state of the art stadium or I leave, but it is the cost of having a team. I imagine that the way the NFL voted was to screw the Raiders, and give SD a chance to build a stadium in the meantime. Metro areas SD 3.3m STL 2.8m San Antonio 2.3m Jax 1.5m Having 2 teams in LA based upon their history seems kind of a waste in the revenue producing area, and metro areas with over 2m should be able to support a team.

I've said this a few times in other forums, but it's insane that the Chargers/Raiders were even contemplating sharing a stadium.  In order for that to work, realignment would need to happen, talk about a cluster****.....

The prudent move is that SD/Rams share LA.  Oakland swallows their pride (never happen), and the NFL forces a negotiation that OAK/SF share Blue Jean park.  Why would OAK get a new stadium, when that area just built a 1B stadium.  Then you would have 6 teams sharing 3 stadiums, makes sense.

Raiders & Chargers getting together for joint practice?  Which team is bringing the "joints"?  Does Goodell know about this?  Is it allowed within the CBA?

While they are in their "alternate reality" I suggest they throw the ball around a little - just to make it legal.  OTOH, it explains why both team think they are going to do well this year - and might even help explain the Bosa negotiations - Bosa refuses to do joints.
