Per NFLN, RGIII is to be inactive this week and possibly rest of season. Good Rex/Bad Rex promoted to 2nd behind Cousins.

What an F'in mess that organization is. RGIII as a healthy rookie looked every bit the top flight QB and then Shanahan placed him out there with a wrecked knee and likely has F'ed his career. Shanahan nearly quit in 2012 apparently. Synder per usual no idea what he's doing.

When you look at where GB is (injuries and all) we're night and day compared to that.

Mess.

RGIII also a guy who, from all reports, could be a coach killer. On M&M this morning Kornie said RGIII has lunch every week with Snyder. I doubt RGIII is voicing total support for Shanahan in those power lunches. Not that Shanie doesn't deserve some -- okay, A LOT -- of criticism for playing RGIII last year with a wrecked knee, but having the face of your franchise go behind your back to the owner will probably scare off a lot of coaches from wanting the Washington job.

Snyder has a boat load of $$$, but even he has to see that can't be good for a "Team" game.  You can't have one player having direct access to the owner on a weekly basis without it upsetting the apple cart, either players or coaches are going to see the preferential treatment.

Was unaware that RGIII and the owner were doing weekly lunches. Ya that can't end well.

Per NFLN, RGIII to be shut down the rest of the season:

“I’m sure everybody knows by now that coach decided to shut me down for the rest of the season. We talked, I talked to coach, he talked to me about it. I expressed my desire to play,” Griffin said. ” He explained to me his reasoning. At the end of the day, coach’s decision is what we go with.”

One perspective is that he is shut down, because Shanahan wants Snyder to intervene and say he needs to play.  Therefore, Shanahan can then say his contract has been breached and get his 7M payout which Snyder doesn't want to pay.

The other being that unlike Adrian Peterson, the HGH didn't work as we'll and his poor play isvexplained by him not being ready to run the offense like he did last year. The latter is reasonable...

One of these decades, Snyder is going to get this whole "running a professional NFL franchise" thing down pat.

That, or he'll just throw several hundreds of millions of dollars at it and hope for the best.

Egotistical owner who only cares about publicity and maximizing profit/screwing the fan base.

Arrogant, lying cheat of a head coach who only took the job for the money and to pave the way for his son to succeed him as head coach.

Coddled athlete who's put himself before team and is more interested in endorsement opportunities and self-image than the team.

They all richly deserve each other.

Imagine being the GM, Bruce Allen.  He's in the middle of RGIII, Snyder, and Shanahan.  I guess Snyder is cleaning house after this season, again.

The fact that Snyder hired the "scumbag POS", his seventh coach in fourteen years of ownership, is EXACTLY why the whole mess is on Danny Boy.

Snyder loves the 'skins as much as anyone.  He just can't figure out that he's got to let football people make football decisions.  Not business people/owners making football decisions.

I like seeing everyone's take on the big news from around the league.  There's days I don't stay up to date on the latest stories and x4 is the first place I come for a football fix.  I'd much rather check in here and catch up than watch another formulaic, sensationalist episode of Sportscenter.

There's also football fans from all over the country here and the people in the local markets often have a deeper understanding of the stories than the national media. Getting a different perspective beats discussion stifling attempts at humor and the drama filled circuitous arguments between the perpetually negative and forever positive viewpoints.  I think a variety of topics adds to the depth of the site.

Usually everyone gets their say in and then the thread drops off the first page in quick order never to be seen again while the packer related stuff tends to float near the top.

Washington is a mess and on the surface it looks like Shanahan has had enough and is looking for a reason to get canned so he can get a big payout and start over fresh somewhere else.   Not sure if Synder will blink but

The other factor is that Washington gave up a lot to draft RGIII.  The Rams have to be laughing all the way to the bank because they get the Skins 1st rounder next year which looks to be a pretty high pick.

The almost ironic thing is it gave the Rams another year to decide whether or not Bradford is teh guy going forward and puts them in the very same spot with which to take another QB if they so desire.
