Lang’s father dies: Left guard T.J. Lang’s father passed away Thursday, according to Lang’s Twitter account.
“Lost a great man today,” Lang wrote on Twitter. “RIP Thomas Lang Sr. I love you dad im going to miss you.”
For the last month and a half, Lang has spoken openly about his father, Tom, being ill.
In mid-November, Tom Lang was struck with life-threatening illness his son would not disclose out of privacy.
On the morning of Green Bay’s game against Minnesota Nov. 14, T.J. found out that the illness had taken a turn for the worse.
T.J. decided to play and then traveled to his hometown near Detroit to spend time with his father. Tom urged his son to play on, and he did in his dad’s honor.
The entire family also spent Thanksgiving weekend together in Michigan and Christmas together in Green Bay.
Lang is in his third year with the Packers.
