I think the doctors, the coaches, the front office at Green Bay are far too conservative about injuries.

Considering how much they're paying him and the long term damage that could occur as a result of fully breaking his collar bone, I'd say it's probably fair to be conservative. Same with Matthews and Tramon Williams and every other high paid player on the roster. I haven't seen them get conservative with the injuries Jolly has been dealing with lately, because they won't be on the hook for an excessive amount of money if his ankle (or whatever it is) suffers more damage.
With EDS again not practicing, meaning not only is it likely he won't play but that Newhouse likely will...I'm not sticking my 100+ million dollar QB in front of that OL either.
Charles Woodson chimed in yesterday and thinks GB (especially if not playoff bound) should just shut AR down the rest of the season. Normally wouldn't take a whole lot from that but considering he had that fracture X 2 he does have history in knowing what it's like. He said he too wanted back weeks 12-14 but McKenzie said no until playoffs.
Really IMO it comes down if they win with Flynn on Sunday AND EDS can come back next week if Rodgers has any shot at playing again this season. A loss this Sunday I really don't see a reason to bring him back.
I truthfully don't expect to see Rodgers (or Cobb) playing again this year. And frankly, that's okay with me. I understand the investment the Packers have in those guys and I wouldn't risk their careers either for a meaningless game and season.
BUT, I really am offended by the gobbledy-gook, evasive coach-speak that we get from McCarthy (and actually from Cobb, too). Just be honest and say that they're done for the season; and tell us exactly what Cobb's injury is. All of Wisconsin will be royally
_issed if we're told during the off-season that Cobb's injury was career-ending. This cat-and-mouse game about injuries is too much like politics, and I'm really wondering if I can believe anything anybody from the Packers' management says.
Doesn't surprise me, especially considering how much of a pussy AR is and how incompetent TT is.
And how dum and fat MM is.
AJ Hawk sucks
He may suck but he will show up and play on Sunday.
It's not like the Packers are a good team like the Jaguars.
If only AR were more like Chad Henne..
The stadium will look like it is a Jaguars game on Sunday.
I am not a Doctor nor did I stay at a Holiday last night and I have not seen the x-rays on Rodgers shoulders. I am declarring him fit to play.
As a caveote if does play and breaks the weak mend in his shoulder (risking next season) it it will be all Teds and MM fault for playing him.
How long, generally speaking, does it take for a full fracture of a collarbone to heal? I'll leave the medical decision to the team/doctors, but even if he refractured the same bone, why is the assumption he could miss next season. I thought collar bone fractures generally heal in a few months.

What is your take on the owners?
I don't think the assumption is that a break would mean him missing next season. I don't have any medical training or extensive medical knowledge, but I do know there are nerves and I would imagine a lot of blood vessels running very near to the collar bone. If it's not healed and he has a bad break, I would think there would be a very real risk of nerve or blood vessel damage? There's also a risk of ligament damage I would think being near the shoulder. With those risks out there it doesn't seem to be worth it in my opinion.
i come to the dumdums of x4 when I have webmd type questions
at least AJ Hawk will be able to play....one dude that needs to be out for the season...worthless pos
This one is the Pack's last shot at saving their season. If they can't figure out some way to pull out a win, they really should just shut Rodgers down for the last 3.
Regardless of playoffs or not, when Rodgers is cleared medically he'll play. That has been his and McCarthy's stance for the past few weeks.
Regarding coming back and re-injuring the collarbone. The concern is over the potential extent of the new injury and what the rehab would be for a surgically repaired collarbone. Rodgers wouldn't miss next season, but the surgery would greatly limit his spring and early summer work.
It'd be pretty stupid to bring him back to play for a 5-8-1 team (assuming they lose on Sunday and he can't come back the following week against Dallas). I'd have to imagine that the team would just shut him down if it shapes up that way, even if he wanted to play. It's not like he needs the experience or anything like that. Being 100% for spring and summer to work with the new players would be far more important than two meaningless games.
If the Packers win on Sunday, then Rodger will be playing in Dallass. If no win, then Rodgers will be out for the season unless the Packers lose Flynn and Tolzien to injury.

This.
I don't understand the notion of sitting him if he's 100% healthy. In that mind set, the Packers should sit Clay Matthews too because of his contract and importance to the defense.
Should the Texans sit JJ Watt the remainder of the year?? Matt Ryan should sit out the remainder of the year?? Adrian Peterson?? They all COULD get injured in a meaningless game.
I certainly wouldn't march AR out there if he's not healthy. But he gets paid to play football. And that's what he should do when the team and doctors feel he's ready and able. If it's next week - great. If not until next season, so be it.
PLVA, Good point!
On the bright side, there could be some new double check commercials coming up.
Sit him for the rest of the season. Tank the last four games and get a decent draft position. If TT and MM can't choose some players that can make a difference then fire them.

You're just pissed Ricky Stanzzzzzzzzziiiii didn't get mop-up duty in the Jags game last night.

Do you know "stupid" flows from your finger-tips as you type, or do you realize it after you've finished?
Did you know that the real Blair Kiel would be a better QB option?
Yeah, like I'm not real.
Wait a sec.......my whole identity is a fraud.
So you don't really have beautiful locks??
Not only great locks but the greatest sweater ever.
You know they're out there waiting to pounce.......Quien es mas macho, Senor Rodgers or Senor Favre?
Bitches...

MM is not fat! He is big-boned.
