I'll bet that in a Love led offense, we'd also see Christian Watson targeted more, downfield. Love and Watson seem to have a better connection than Rodgers does with Watson. Toure, too for that matter. The only "new" WR Rodgers connects with, is Doubs. GBP wasted Amari Rodgers, when they resigned Cobb. I'll bet that Amari thrives on another team, if he is traded.

Every other QB in NFL history would throw more to Watson downfield.

I would take that bet and I'm guessing we can't get even a 7th round pick for him. He has been awful. Even when we've had injuries at the position, they choose to bring a player up from the practice squad rather than give Amari reps at WR. I would love to be wrong about him but it's not looking good.

I will say this, I just watched the McAfee interview from yesterday and I absolutely loved what 12 said about what the expectation is in GB and how he and the players embrace that. It's that type of thought process and leadership that I think is an intangible. I guess we'll never know just how valuable AR's presence is to this team until he's long gone.

There is definitely a  vibe of complete doomsday and freak out any time this team loses or plays like crap. I know I personally feed into this as a fan, and I feel shitty about that. I think you either need to have one take or the other. What was the old icon "get on board or shut up" or something? This is just an internal struggle I deal with when your team has reached the pinnacle and had such an effin hard time getting back there.

Keeping 12 in lieu of the compensation Denver was offering was absolutely stupid.  I'm not talking about hindsight being 20/20 at this point... it was stupid the second they said no.

100% on Murphy - He stopped it.

I’ve spoken to some people within the #Packers organization, they told me that QB Aaron Rodgers has “made it clear” that he plans to retire following the season.

Yes and Tom.Brady will retire too.....Yes I'm certain of it.

So more drives stalled because of dropped passes on those occasions he's healthy enough to play, great.

The set up is different from McCarthy but the situation is the same: Rodgers is put in a position he has to play hero ball to win and as good as he is, he can't do it alone and will get frustrated and press. This isn't exactly news.

Fredokunst bringing in Sammy Watkins as the only experienced receiver and spending two high picks on an incredibly raw rookie with questionable hands and a gimpy knee as "immediate help" was abject stupidity.

J'Mon Moore

MVS

ESB

Sternberger (Terry McLaurin taken next pick)

Deguara (Gabe Davis still on the board)

Rodgers (Amon-Ra St Brown, or maybe even Nico Collins)

Watson

Doubs

Toure

Nine picks and not one worth a shit as a receiving weapon.

The Sternberger/Deguara/Rodgers Hat Trick of suck is killing them right now.

Doubs may turn out to be decent, Deguara has a chance, Watson has a chance to be more than Troy Williamson redux but none of these guys are contributing much to what should be a strong Green Bay team, or much of anything at all except MVS being a sometimes-healthy deep guy. That Doubs is easily the best of the bunch is a very ugly indictment.

So they cloned Will Wheaton and gave it a lobotomy. As good a source as any. /s

Outstanding summary.

Drafting receivers is apparently Gute's kryptonite just like Ted Thompson's kryptonite was drafting DBs. (He did add Lazard, but not through the draft).

The ONLY thing keeping Gute's WR drafting record from approaching Ted's level of DB drafting suck is that none of Gute's guys were taken in rounds 1 or 2 unlike HaHa (round 1 2014), Randall (round 1 2015), Rollins (round 2 2015), King (round 2 2017) and J. Jones (round 2 2017).

The round 3 busts are indeed painful as you state.

The fact that the Pack will be facing each of McLaurin, Davis, and A. St. Brown over the next few weeks will surely lead to some scrutiny in the "Packer Press" of Gute's draft record when it comes to receiving weapons, right?

Brady is a good bet for sure. And that alone makes me doubt any rumors of Rodgers retiring. Rodgers is a narcissist. I don't think he wants any part of being an undercard 5 years later going into the HOF.
