Wonderful timing for this thread, since the Brewers exercised Roenicke's 2016 option exactly one month ago. Would be a typical Brewer move to extend a guy one month and then turn around and fire him the next, and be a perfect illustration that the franchise's problems go higher (possibly much higher) than the field manager.
The White House?
If the Crew fires RR with a year left, note them as the 1,455,625,952 team to do this.
Technically Joe Madden is on the clock....
I think this next series is crucial for him and the Brewers. It's not just that they're 2-10. It is how they got there and how it has apparently carried over from last year. Nobody on this team wants to step up and make it work.
Sure, maybe they rebound...but there will be lingering doubt for a long, long time. That choke job last season cast a big dark shadow.
They will rebound. They will have some wins around the time of the trade deadline so a move won't be made. They will also win 7 of 10 to end the year to go from the 5th pick to the 15th pick.

yuck
Worst start in Brewer history.
And what an illustrious history it is.....just think of how many utterly non critical, unimportant, boring and meaningless September games Bob Uecker has had to see, it boggles the mind. Looks like 20 more this year.
#Dodgers have as many HR in past 4 PA as #Brewers have all season (3).

If not RR then who?
the next guy.
Well now, that leads us to Doug Melvin...regarded as one of the better GMs in MLB. Over the last few years I have piped in about Melvin and most of the time it hasn't been positive.
But leaving him out of this, I am inclined to lay this on RR. It appears very apparent that RR lost this team somewhere for some reason last year. Despite their strong finish in spring training, they have picked up right where they left off. There is too much talent on this team to be 2-10...especially how they are playing and losing.
Is Ned Yost available?
Boy, Ned is probably yukking it up about that.
Trebelhorn is available
Wonder what Jim Gantner is up to these days...
That changes thing last fall by Mark A is working. If the plan was implosion to justify house cleaning in season vs out of season which we did not do last winter we are well on our way.
Keep up the great work Brew Crew.
God, I sure hope the salmon bite early and often this season.
I did not like at all the way Melvin and Mark handled the end of last season. And it is beginning to show their collective decisions were questionable at best. Question is: whose idea was it to let the dust settle for cooler decision-making? If Melvin convinced Mark to hang onto RR one more season, then...
But on a positive note, I hope for the sake of everyone involved the Brewers can turn it around on this homestand, otherwise, it is probably "Sayonara" Ron and maybe Doug too.
The 13th loss is only two games a way.
You know what is sad, I find myself rooting against a win so a change can be made and the Brewers can move on in a new and better direction...hopefully.
No one could offer any timetable for Jonathan Lucroy's recovery from a broken big toe. @injuryexpert?

Finances would not necessarily preclude #Brewers from firing Roenicke, even though team guaranteed option for 2016 on March 19. Roenickeβ¦

β¦is earning $1.3M this season, per source. Salary for β16 not known, but probably includes only slight raise. Not huge $$$ in overall view.

June 28th, 2014 the Milwaukee Brewers were 51-32, in 6th 1st place and had a 6.5 game lead in the NL Central. (edit, as always I'm a dumbass)
Since that day the Milwaukee Brewers have played 93 games, with a record of 33-60, a winning percentage of .354.
This isn't a slow start. This isn't a slump. This is what the Brewers are.
