The  are learning toward signing TE Colt Lyerla but are still discussing it, according to a source.

Few minutes later...

Don't expect a final decision on Lyerla today. Apparently GM Ted Thompson wants to take some more time to think about it.

Translation. He wants to sit down and have a long talk with the kid.

Abbredris is a player who shouldn't be able to do what he does if you look at just his physical characteristics.  But he does it anyway.  If he had a better QB at Wisconsin who knows what he would have accomplished.  Desean thought he knew it all coming into the NFL.  Physically he has it - but he under performs that talent.  I'll take Abbrederis.

Rodgers and Adams will click immediately. Rodgers can throw him open. In time Abbrederis and Rodgers will click because Jared is probably the purest route runner in the draft. Rodgers is going to love him. Lacy. Starks. Cobb, Jordy, Colt....

Tough to temper the excitement. Week 1 can't get here soon enough.

With 4:30 left in their playoff game against SF with the score tied 20-20 Micah Hyde had a possible take the lead pick slip through his hands. Lacy was averaging almost 4 yards per behind a line with a 4th round rookie LT starting after Bulaga was lost for the year. Clay Matthews, Mike Neal, Sam Shields, and Casey Hayward were watching from the sidelines. Sean Richardson was playing safety.

The injuries are coming like they have the past 5 years. All Ted can do is keep jamming the best possible 53 into the roster and let MM get them ready to step in when needed.

But if those injuries don't happen to happen....

From Demovsky's ESPN mailbag:

Demovsky: In talking to several people who got to watch more practice than the one session the media was allowed to attend, it sounds like that among the draft picks, the following players stood out: safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix, center Corey Linsley, defensive tackle Khyri Thornton, plus receivers Davante Adams and Jared Abbrederis. Keep in mind, that was an extremely early analysis, but it sounds like those players definitely caught the attention of the coaches and scouts right away. As for the group of undrafted rookies, the gems from that class should start to shine as the OTAs progress over the next month.
