not a fan of Cobb doing KR. maybe they bring someone in? Joe McKnight?
Good.
It's hard to give up his speed, but his decision-making was/is so poor, there was really no other choice.
His fumbles were killers, but what bothered me the most was his decisions to return a KO instead of downing it in the EZ, and he was just a whisker away from another disaster yesterday on that OOB KO.
Josh Cribbs. Lot of miles but he's reliable, consistent, and I'm guessing affordable.
He's lucky they gave him a ride back to Green Bay to pick up his stuff.
Can't say GB didn't give him worlds of opportunities. They tried damn near everyone at KR in TC. I would assume if they are not going to use Cobb (let's hope they don't) TT is going to have to look outside 1265
that's a career for him, I agree GB gave him plenty of kicks at it...
I don't think MM has any intentions of using Cobb. If he was Cobb would have been handling those duties yesterday after Ross crapped the opening KO.
Deserved.
Besides his fumble he was about to pick the KO that went out of bounds, right? Inches away for downing it al the 1 yard line.
That leaves us with 4 receivers, so we either promote from the practice squad or sign a new receiver.
Interestingly, Packers.com depth chart now shows Jonathan Franklin as the Kick Returner, and Punt Returner as Cobb, Hyde, Franklin.
Fielding the ball out of bounds was a good play by him, but MM has little tolerance for turnovers and his luck ran out.
I bet Hyde gets some extra work and looks.
actually the ball that was going out of bounds was a good play. I think the ball could be in bounds but if he has one foot out of bounds when he picks it up, the call is out of bounds.
Good time to do it I guess. They have two weeks to get somebody back there and plugged in, whether the KR/PR is already on the team or not.
He had to go. He was killing them.
They did exactly what I told them to do when it happened, except I wanted them to do it right then.

That was an incredibly close play, that worked out, I actually thought he was going to field it in play and step out. Either way, good luck in the future JR.

Me too.
WOW... We all wanted it but nobody actually expected it.
Kudos!
With Cleveland blowing up roster and 2 strikes on him how about acquiring a real talent like Josh Gordon
Not surprising at all. Gave him every chance. Maybe time for Franklin to return punts and kickoffs. He was doing it in training camp.
The mistake might have been tolerated had Ross brought the expected juice to the return game. After performing pretty well last year he seemed very tentative and really didn't add anything.
This comment brought a smile to my face..
""This organization does not tolerate failure." - Dr. Evil
Maybe Antonio Chapman is available.
This makes me try to remember which other players the Packers have unceremoniously dumped after a terrible performance?
-TJ Rubley
-JJ Moses
Who else?
MM On Ross: We made a change today with Jeremy Ross. As always, the roster is a constant conversation. ...Production, performance always part of those decisions. We haven't given up on Jeremy. Had some opportunities. He's obviously not with us right now but I have no problem working with him again."
Might be a temporary roster shuffle to address the RB spot as noted by titm above
Hyde is sure handed but not very fast imo. He made good decisions when he played at Iowa. Hope this move by MM has nothing involving Starks injury.
Josh Cribbs?

Unbelievable they left the tird in the whole game. We were last in the league in starting position to start the game fer kristsakes. McKnight???
I just heard he dropped several bags as he was leaving the facility.
good riddens....called this ****ing move 6 months ago while the rest of you dip****s were still drooling all over him.

This is exactly correct, it was a heads up, smart play. Put one foot OOB and pick up the football. Cobb did the exact same thing last year.
Other than that, not much value our of Ross. But he deserves credit for one nice play.
Whatever they do, do not let Cobb return.
HE IS TOO IMPORTANT TO THE OFFENSE!!!
MCCARTHY, PLEASE READ THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If you want to get his attention, you could do a protest outside Lambeau.

dont let Cobb advance the ball upfield because hes too important advancing the ball upfield?
I understand the injury concern but Id be all for it. He could really help turn field position decidedly in our favor. The reality is that most kickoffs are out of the endzone and a majority of punts are fair caught. One or 2 long return could make a big difference in winning and losing.
about time
I thought it was interesting yesterday that MM let him do a couple more kick-offs but when the game was on the line in the 4th Cobb was back there. I can't help but wonder if MM and Ross got into it at half time and he was actually cut then. I guess Ross was in for a 5 wide set in the 4th tho.
Not cut on the spot. Was in near the end of the game, not too effective.
Did Boykin play?
That's a guy we haven't heard from at all so far.
