That's his style and I doubt it will ever change. Another thing I like about the guy is that he is humble.

Still I agree it would have been appropriate to hear from the GM. Especially after a season when the team perserveres despite so many injuries.

Bradshaw should have made a point of talking to Thompson. What a snub.

My suspicious nature wonders if Bradshaw, a big Favre supporter, purposely ignored TT.
How is TT going to celebrate? GB is lucky to have this dude running the show.

From Packerplus online:

Thompson said he would be leaving for the Senior Bowl early this week to scout college talent, but said he had a good deal of administrative things to take care of regarding the Dallas trip.

I think even Bradshaw has grown weary of Brent's schtick in the last few years.
I have talked to some peope (even from Green Bay) who I always figured were rea Packer fans only to find out that they were actuaally "Favre fans" ad they hate TT and MM. I guess this year should quiet down some of those fans(??) who were yelling for MM to be fired during the year and for TT to follow him (or lead him) out of town.

Great job Ted and Mike!!

She is pretty old, and she doesn't do it all the time. At any rate, I love the McCaskey family, I hope my man Mikey McCaskey gets to take over the team again when she passes.

I thought that Favre's brother's jersey didn't have a space between Thanks and Ted....it looked liked it said: ThanksTed

if so, then the pix shouldn't have a space between...
Green Bay Packers goal is to 'win the next game'
Green Bay Press Gazette

Ted Thompson was in the middle of a rare postgame appearance in front of the media after Sunday’s NFC championship game when he was asked whether he was ready for all the adulation that would come his way now his Green Bay Packers had made the Super Bowl.

“I don’t get much of that,” Thompson said after his team's 21-14 win over the Chicago Bears.

(snip)

I’m proud of our staff, proud of our coaches and proud of our leaders on the team that took these guys in,” Thompson added. “A lot of the credit goes to these players. They didn’t know they’re not supposed to be able to play well. They just played and our coaches got them ready and did a good job, but we’ve still got some more work to do.”

“The goal is not to win this game,” Thompson said. “Our goal is to win the next game.” continue
Past the click there's more quotes from TT and MM, Lang talks about his stint in the game and Clifton talks about his stinger, and Tramon Williams was impressed by one of the Bear player's performance and sought him out after the game to compliment him. There's also a humorous quote from Pickett about Hanie and Capers has a bit to say about Hanie as well. There's also details of the measures the Packers took to be prepared for the field conditions.

Green Bay Packers win 'gratifying' for GM Ted Thompson
Green Bay Press Gazette

By Mike Vandermause 1/23/11
quote:

Thompson wore a look of relief after the Packers hung on for a 21-14 victory over the Chicago Bears.

“This is a hard business,” Thompson said. “The game tonight was a hard thing. The thing could have gone a different way and we would have been heartbroken. We came out on the winning end. It’s just a hard business. Nothing’s easy about it.”

(snip)

“The negatives or the positives don’t really affect me,” he said.

Quite frankly Big Grin, very few people know what they’re talking about. It’s like (former Packers GM Ron Wolf) said one time, ‘You’re never as stupid as they say you are and you’re never as smart as they say you are. You’re somewhere in the middle.”

Thompson has no desire to say “I told you so” or point fingers.

“This is really gratifying to be able to get the Packers back to the Super Bowl,” he said. continue
Past the click there's a bunch of quotes from Rodgers and MM and Mike Vandermause has some well deserved compliments for TT. There's also an anecdote about TT and Reggie McKenzie sharing a moment in the locker room after the game.

Nice celebration. Scouting talent to get us back to the playoffs & hopefully Super Bowl in 2011-2012.

Un freaking real. The dude never stops to admire his work. He's tireless. He's ridiculous. He's provided not only this Packer team with talent but also the rest of the league. How many players were taken on other teams last Sept? Was it 8? after the final cutdown? That's insanity. Not even Polian has that type of reputation.
TT was probably on his second Bud Lite and ice cubes...would have embarrassed himself.

But seriously, was hoping to hear from him. The man behind the curtain. Congrats to him and the scouting staff!
thanks Goalline. the comments there are great.

loved this lil' tidbit too:
This is what you said on opening day:
"The secondary is a train-wreck waiting to happen, with Al Harris once again out for at least 6 games and no one else to fall back on. Tramon Williams will be the Packers #2 CB. Let me just say that again, in case it hasn’t sunk in yet. Tramon Williams will be the Packers #2 CB. A huge liability anywhere on the field, Williams will make opposing QBs salivate at the prospect of a huge play, or a deep pass interference call. Similarly, expect the opposition to go after rookie nickle back starter Sam Shields, as they will throw many confusing packages at the first year player in an attempt to test his level of knowledge of the defense early."

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

That was awesome

One of my good friends is a Bud Lite drinker, for reasons I can't comprehend, but during the Super Bowl, I think I'm gonna steal one from him and put it on ice. ROTTT, after all.
In the 60's,70's,80's-2010 it does not matter every era is the same fans rip the Head Coach and the GM.

I know it may be shocking but Lombardi had his critics as well I remember many pissed at Lombardi for personel moves and such. History does not bring much of that up and mostly paint an image of harmony in the Lombardi years. This coach bashing thing is not a new trend and has been doing on since the sport started.

It seems the guys in charge are like lightning rods they look cool but it would suck to be one.
