Sad news.
RIP Glenn.
Β·Geez. Five musical deaths in the past 24 hours:
Another Musician death just announced ~ Gary Loizzo, singer The American Breed
Blowfly, musician/songwriter/p...roducer
Dale Griffin, drummer Mott The Hoople
Mic Gillette, brass player Tower Of Power
Glenn Frey, guitarist/singer The Eagles
Gary Loizzo, singer The American Breed
Another sad day in my life and I'm getting too many of them lately.
I'm a couple months older than Frey and within the past year or so, I've lost a few of my HS classmates back home and I've lost some dear friends and neighbors, all around our age here in suburban Detroit.
The Eagles, in my mind, were one of our generations transitional bands, that bridged many genres of music.
As the Beach Boys set the LA music scene in the 60's, the Eagles set the LA music scene of the 70's.
I do know their music is timeless and when I'm driving my hot rod down the highways and play a CD of either group, it transports me back in those times where life was a lot easier and carefree and eases my sorrows.
RIP Glenn.
Wow this one was so sad because at my age the Eagles were one of the first bands I knew about. And like everyone my age I think everyone had their greatest hits album and knew every word. RIP Glenn and thanks for the music.
