I think they will be playing film of Manning making tackles in the backfield to Hawk. Followed by film of Hawk making all his tackles five yards downfield. This is telling Hawk that he needs to play with more attack in his game and find a way to not get blocked on every play.
I probably should not have put Bishop on that list as he is a good NFL ILB.

The reason he was included is that I believe that Bishop has the potential to improve to a All Pro type player. I considered leaving Hawk off that list because I think he has possibly reached the heigth of his potential(hopefully I am wrong)!Bishop should raise his level of play this year as he has another year under his belt.

I did not include Matthews because he is in a different league than the rest of GB's LB's at this point in time but I do expect him to get better. And we are all waiting for another LB or two to reach Matthews league very soon.

TT may have got a steal with this pick and I dont think that it concerns Bishop as much as it does Hawk. I think that the Manning pick is for depth and competition for Hawk. Can GB win with Bishop and Hawk at ILB? Yes!

While this pick may not be a glaring need there is still room for improvment. TT is always on the prowl always looking to improve the team and it was pretty cool to see TT deviate from his usual mode of operation of taking a position early in the draft and then following up at the same position later in the draft.

This year only the Dline was doubled up on and for good reason
After looking a little bit deeper, I'm liking the pick more.

He's clearly going to have to be an ILB due to his size. He's not big enough to play OLB for us on early downs.

However, if he develops quickly, he could be a nice ILB to put on the field on passing downs in the sub-packages. We really haven't had that since Chillar broke down.

He runs well enough to cover TEs, and he appears to have the physical talent to develop into an effective blitzer over time.

Hopefully the knee issues are behind him. There's a lot to like about getting this kind of ability in the 5th, and TT felt strongly enough about him to trade up for him.

Next to Mcmillian, this is the player I'll be paying attention to the most during TC and the pre-season.
Reading around the interwebs, I found out that the Niners might have had their sights set on this guy. Niner fans commented that when watching the Niners war room cam on the Niners site, their GM Trent Baalke slammed his fist into the table and threw his pen in anger when the Packers traded up and selected Manning. 2 picks later the Niners took another LBer

I asked my good friend if he heard anything. I'll keep you posted.
