One of my favorite things to do after a win is read other teams boards for butthurt. No disappointments here. Enjoy the highlights:

Woodson:

quote:
What a POS..how he wasn't ejected is beyond me..the league owes us an explanation...I think Sean was right to be pissed...if we meet these chumps again..please give him and Rogers something to remember us by...Home cooking was on the stove last night...

quote:

He will get fined and probably will have to sit out. Remember, the NFL goes back and reviews the games looking for ways to fine people. I didn't know much about Woodson's character before last nights game, but I just assumed he was an okay guy because I had never heard anything negative about him. Now, I know that he is a world class giant bag of douche. I understand you want to be physical and give people extra shoves after the whistle is blown, but punching people in the stomach is way over the line. He will now be labeled as a dirty player

Bayless:

quote:
I've been down all night. But after watching Skip Bayless praise Brees and PT23, I feel a whole lot better now. In fact, it felt great hearing him call Rogers a "jerk". Bayless, Bayless, Bayless.

quote:
Rodgers has never bothered me, but unless it was Big Ben he was making those post game jabs at, I would've been a little ruffled. Drew is a great QB, a great person, and he works his ass off to give us fans a team worth watching. For Rodgers to stroke himself so hard and say Brees was dumb for the post season workouts, and that they didn't need em to beat us? This Superbowl is going to his head. I hope GB gets there asses whipped, I hope Rodgers get a bloody nose, and I hope Woodson gets suspended. Totally classless. Drew never would've roasted Rodgers like that if we had just beat them at home. He would have been respectful, pointed out the good things Rodgers does, and smiled his way to the locker room.

Collinsworth:

quote:
Is it my imagination or does Collinsworth have something against The Saints. It seems like he put the team down any chance he could and it killed him to say anything positive. At the end of the game when Drew was pushing for the comeback Collinsworth finally broke down and said some positive things. I guess he was trying to cover himself just in case we made it to OT.

Also Collinsworth has a striking resemblance to Mike Wolfe from American Pickers. He also has the same high pitched laugh and does the same schoolgirl jokes on Simms just like Wolfe does to his little chubby partner Fritz. The only difference is that one is an American Picker and the Broadcast Boy is a Nose Picker. (cleaned up version)

Others:

quote:
Dont forget we played the world champs on their ****ty field...almost tied it..i still say we go 13 and 3 ..our D will get better with Will back and gel as the season goes...this game is history..

quote:
Driver is almost 38 yrs old! And Nelson, a complete nobody, made him look like Andre Rison. It's going to be a long season if somebody doesn't bat down a ball.

Also worth noting:

quote:
BJ is a beast for the pack

I understand Saints fans being pissed at Woodson. I'd be pissed if a Saint punched one of our guys and didn't get kicked out. I hope a suspension doesn't happen but would understand if he sat out a game. You can't punch other playes. Woodson should know that.

Everything else is just whining by a losing team. Rodgers is a sarcastic person who doesn't take life too seriously (based on his Jack Handy and Dumb and Dumber quotes on Twitter). The media, on the other hand, hang on every word an athlete says. And Rodgers wasn't criticizing Brees or the Saints; he was mocking the media. Go figure the media was pissed after that. One thing I learned about Rodgers the last 3 years, nothing rattles him. If he survived (and thrived) the Favre situation, he can handle any media backlash.

As for Bayless, he hates Rodgers and I love that. I'd actually be pissed if Bayless liked Rodgers.
Ever look over the Packer "fan" comments on craptastic sites like JSonline?

Makes me want to wish they were any other fans then Packer fans. Depending where you go, you can get tools commenting their dum dum from every team out there.

Saints fans (I was just in New Orleans last October) for the most seem pretty decent and to be honest, if my team just got their ass kicked on defense the way Rodgers cut them to ribbons as a fan I'd be in quite a mood myself.
Agreed CUpack...

I think the offseason work out joke was a shot at the media, but I could see how some fans would take it the wrong way right after a loss.

Also, if an opposing player punched a Packer, every fan here would be calling him a scum bucket and calling for a ejection / suspension.
Colin Cowherd played Rodgers comment about not having organized practices during the lockout, and said he now thinks Rodgers is the most likeable guy in the NFL. Does this mean I should hate Rodgers, love Cowherd, or a little bit of both?

Everything I thought I knew is a lie.

Whats the movie where Tom Cruise and the police force could see crimes before they are committed?

Sorry, couldn't resist. I'm not sure what you mean by this.

I thought Collinsworth was blowing Payton the whole game. All of the questionable calls were "good calls" in Beak Boy's brain. Sheesh. Saints fans must be deaf.
I was listening to Cowherd today as well and heard Rodgers comments. I to think the jab was at the media, but I'm sure he knew that Brees organized the unofficial workouts for his team so it seems that he was sort of taking a shot at Brees. Regardless, he should keep his mouth shut. He did a great job and showed a lot of class when he slipped down the draft, again in dealing with the Favre issues. He dealt wonderfully with the tremendous pressure he was under when he became a starter. It doesn't matter if you think the off season stuff was not needed, it doesn't matter if you think Sanchez's spread in GC was embarrassing, or how big a chip you have on your shoulder. Shut your mouth and play. When has talking smack to the media ever turned out good.

The Pittsburgh Steelers certainly don't think Nelson is a nobody.

Everybody was a nobody until they were given the opportunity to be somebody.

Good God, I'm sounding like Yogi Berra! LOL

One thing we've learned about Rodgers is that he uses the criticism to motivate himself and others around him.

Many members of the national media were somewhat critical of the Packers this offseason for not doing what Brees did- i.e. organizing team workouts, and you know damn well that Rodgers was listening.

I have no problem with him (Rodgers) taking some shots after the game because it's almost like they assumed that Rodgers and the Packers did NOTHING in the offseason which we all know is BS. The lovefest with Brees and the Saints about the offseason workout stuff did seem a little over the top and if Rodgers calls them out on it I'm fine with it.

Scoreboard, baby
I was at the Superdome in '08 Monday Nighter where Bob "Colonel" Sanders & the Packer defense decided not to show up.

Some idiot fans in every fan base. That night some of the fans were even more vocal probably due to the fact there was about 30,000 Packer fans in the house.

Most were cool but one fan in particular was in my face more than he should've been. So I had to fire back at him....

"12 (at the time) Championships baby. I've been there before & I'll be there again. Come talk to me when you get ONE!"

That pretty much shut him (and everyone else in earshot) up.
I can certainly see where Saint fans would think that was a jab at Brees but it wasn't. Arod was poking at the media and some of the fan base for getting in his ass about not doing off season workouts. To add to it, Arod has kind of a dry sense of humor which probably didn't help how it came off.
ARod's sarcasm on this (as stated above) is obviously directed at the media . . . which called into question both his and Woodson's leadership, their work ethic, and their professionalism.

Some Saints fan have such a cognative bias, they are not able to recognize that says quite a bit about the confidence in their fandom, because we just had happened to play the Saints. ARod would have said that regardless of the opponent after the first game IMHO.

Imagine if the Packers had lost, the 'fake' offseason workouts would have been the reason.
Saint fans are very protective of Brees... and hell, they should be. Great quarterback, great dude, very personable, active in the community, etc. They just read Arod's comments wrong. No big deal.
I'm pretty sure with 2 wides out that N.O. is going to have a tough game against the Bears. They won the North last year and their D can be difficult. N.O. better hope they don't start 0-2 or 1-3. Could be a long year for them.
