Was gonna start a thread on this but here is as good a place as any.

Just want to look at the job being done by this defensive backfield and where they came from. by the way, there is also a big old SHUT THE HELL UP to the whiney-assed "TT never blah, blah, blah" people.

Look where these players came from. Woodson...over-the -hill, oft-injured, FREE AGENT. Many thought he was done, guess not. Collins...Man the pissing and moaning when he was drafted with a 2nd round pick. WHO?!! TT thinks he's smarted than everyone else, my mock had him listed as a 6th rounder blah, blah, blah. Williams...undrafted f/a cut from Houstons? practice squad, Picked up as a FREE AGENT by TT. Shields... undrafted rookie FREE AGENT! Anybody want to guess where Peprah came from?

What a amazing job by TT and the scouting staff to pick them up, and what a amazing job by the coaching staff to coach em up and put them in a position to succeed. We tend to look at the individual efforts of each player from game to game, but where these guys came from, how they were put together, and how they succeed as a whole is even more amazing to me.
Well Chicago probably thought why has no team tested this undrafted rookie?

Yesterdays game was a good object lesson why Shields was not exploited during the season , because he is a pretty damn good CB.

Two years ago us GB fans were worried about the CB position as Woodson and Harris were getting up their in age and Bush was the nickle back.

Now GB still has two pro bowl corners its just that their names are Shields and Williams instead of Harris and Woodson.

Shield's play has been the key to GB's defense this year.In fact the play of the whole secondary has been Fantastic!
I guess JerseyAl's take after week 1 that teams were going to exploit Sam Shields all year kind of didn't happen. He didn't play particularly great in week 1, but the thing is, that was the guys first NFL action and he was bound to improve. Shields really looks like a possible cornerstone for the future if he works at it. As a nickelback, he's already very very good.
