We ended that season with 14 players on IR, Titans had 23, including their starting QB and 2 best pass rushers. We still had pretty much all of our "difference makers", Raji, Matthews, & Woodson (until second half of SB) on defense ; Rodgers , all of his WRs, and all 5 of our starting o-lineman on offense.

I very vaguely recall someone doing an article on this very thing.  Maybe Silverstein or Dougherty.  They had a lot of starters on IR but they weren't at critical positions.  The way Starks played was an upgrade.  Losing Finley certainly hurt but it probably also forced MM to diversify the offensive game plan more.  I recall the offseason leading up to 2010 where there were comments about building the offense around Finley.  The "revised offense" without Finley and with Starks didn't really hit it's stride until the divisional round at ATL.
