Everybody asleep at the wheel?

Should be a barnburner.

I was leaning toward KC since last weekend but after watching some of the AFCCG and seeing how TEN was able to get pressure on PM, I started thinking the SF D could limit him.  Then it'll be up to KC's D to stop SF's run.  They were able to corral Henry early in that game until the score forced TEN into throwing more.  But they held him in check when they needed to.

So I can imagine SF limiting PH early, even getting some sacks and hits on him.  Reid will adjust at half time so SF needs to score early.  Shanahan will have a much more balanced game plan for KC than vs GB.  PH will have some second half magic so it should come down to whether Garrapolo can play well enough late to keep up and get them across the finish line.

Both teams are fully healthy and coming into this game with tons of MO.   I think it boils down to Mahomes vs. Saleh.  The rest kind of evens out.  But while KC has been up (really up) and down through the playoffs, SF has been consistently good.  My mind says SF is the better overall team but my gut goes with Mahomes and KC's 50yr drought.

As I do every year when the Packers aren't in the Super Bowl I root for the AFC team.

I think it will come down to the KC defense not the 49ers D.  I think KC has the speed and playmakers to put up some points on SF.  So the key to me is can KC stop the SF running game?I think the KC defense can be pushed around a bit.

So because I am a huge jinx I think San Fran gets just enough to win in a lower scoring game than many are expecting.  24-21 SF

I think the game is: Make Garoppolo beat you. Fill the box. Put your most athletic LB/DE over Kittle and force him to sumo just to get off the line. If KC can force Garoppolo to throw to his other receivers he'll make some critical mistakes. I think the Chiefs will be able to score because Mahomes is playing at that level.

I think the Chiefs' story is the best in a long time- 50 years since their last appearance. I hope they win.

I agree with Grignon. Make JG beat you to the WRs by taking away the run and Kittle. Throw the kitchen sink at stopping the run, getting pressure, and make Kittle stay in to block. I think it's going to be fairly low scoring for three quarters and then things will get interesting in the fourth to the very end. KC has the ball last and needs a score, but SF does just enough to keep them from scoring to win.

I want to see KC get the lead on the Niners. (Was hoping the Packers would too) then we'll have a game.

I'm betting the over.

If the Niners have the lead, they're going to slow it waaaaaayyyy the eff down to keep Mahomes off the field by running the ball.

Shitty Halftime Show

I won't watch it, so, please, someone please tell me if my prediction was right.

I don't bother with the halftime show either and can't remember the last time I cared.

I agree with Boris in that if the 49ers get a lead they will pull the same playbook they used on the Packers.  Running the damn ball using a 3 yards and a cloud of dust on them to keep Mahomes off the field.  But, I think this one could come down to Garrapolo having to win the game with his arm.  That to me is where it will get interesting.

I don't know that SF will be able to run at KC with the same impunity it did vs GB. Granted they're different run schemes but Henry came into the game a wrecking ball and they limited him when they needed to.

I think KC finds a way to make Garappolo be a passer.  Shananihan might even go to the pass more frequently to soften KC up for the run if KC throws the sink in the box on a regular basis.  As annoying as Romo can be I kind of wish he was calling this one just to hear more about the scheming these two teams are going to constantly be adjusting.

It comes up clean on mine, it is just a nice human interest  story about Forrest Greggs widow who lives in Colorado Springs, right down the road from me.  It had some sweet rememberances of the first SP, Lombardi and the Packers in general. She will be attending the game this Sunday.  As you most likely know, the best tackle in football history died last year.

"Philly Godfather" (look him up on Twitter) on the radio this morning said The line has moved from opening 51 up to 56 for the O/U. I still see 54.5 but Philly Godfather says he's betting the under as he expects this weekend to bring a lot of "over" betting. If the line moves to 56.5, then I like the Under.

He also likes the Niners to win (Which explains the Under) & the under in the first half (I like that too)

Even a 27-24 game is still under the current 54.5 line.

A lot of times, I've won the under for the first half then the over for the 2nd half plus the over for the game. 2nd half gets nuts like Super Bowl LI (Falcons / Patriots).

Maybe the best bet, is not betting the game at all.

I remember getting in trouble with you once for making basically this comment.

It was the 2008 Pittsburgh/SD game that ended 11-10 when a Steelers defensive score on the last play of the game was overturned on replay, causing Pittsburgh not to cover and pissing off those fans who had bet on Pittsburgh to cover.  I said it served those fans right, at which point you pointed out having a six-game parlay or some such that would have netted you thousands of dollars.

Still, I say there's a reason the only way I'd be involved in sports betting is if I were the one raking in the vig.

Chiefs 31 Niners 17

Hill and/or Hardman will have a couple of long TDs between them and perhaps a special teams TD.  Kelce will have a bunch of catches.  Mahomes with a big game.

The bad news?  Packers aren’t facing the Chefs.  The good news?  It would have been a KC beatdown as bad if not worse than the Niners did to us.

Would like to see K C and Mahomes win but I think 40Whiners will win.

Agreed.  The 49ers are just so good in so many areas.  Mahomes, Hill, and Kelce are so fantastic that they'll keep the Chiefs in it, but overall I think the 9ers are better over 4 quarters.

Want Chiefs and especially Andy Reid to win, but after watching the 49ers dominate us - twice - dont see many cracks in the 49ers game. Wouldn’t be surprised to see them roll tomorrow.

Go “Chefs”

Purple Rain      I don’t see many weaknesses in the 49ers defense for the Chiefs offense to take advantage of,  but I do see holes in the Chiefs defense that the 49ers will be able to take advantage of starting with the run game. Just look at SF last 2 games, much better competition than what the Chiefs have played in their last 3 games.
