The 1250 lineup includes The Bart Winkler Show in the mornings, followed by the Wendy's Big Show with former Packers running back Gary Ellerson, newly minted Packers Hall of Famer LeRoy Butler and longtime Milwaukee-area radio personality Steve "Sparky" Fifer, who also hosted "Sparky's Midday Madness."

The lineup also includes Milwaukee veteran radio presence Tim Allen.

Brutal fu**ing business that is radio and journalism(ists) these days. None of those dudes got paid big bucks to be in radio and Audacy literally cut their station in mid-afternoon show, with NO notice to any of those guys.

So Audacy is fuc**** dead to me.

Anyway, where do you guys get your Wisconsin sports radio fix? I hear The Game in Milwaukee is decent. But I am really going to miss the above guys input with guests like Ryan Wood. I got some valuable info I can no longer get.

Sadly the internet has ruined almost all journalism, sports is just part of it.

When revenue got tied to things like clicks and views it became a quantity over quality proposition. Radio stations, newspapers, magazines would rather hire free-lancers for pennies rather than spend the money on quality talent...because all that matters is ad revenue.

When I find someone of quality whose work resonates with me, I usually subscribe to their Patreon, Substack, web sites, etc. to support them. It's the only way real journalism will survive in this day and age. And the benefit is, they don't have some editorial board slicing their content to ribbons so as not to offend some corporation that advertises with them.

Unfortunately there isn't a ton of quality content in the Packers fandom...Bukowski is decent, but he rubs a lot of people the wrong way. Andy Herman is probably the best overall stats geek analyst out there. Beyond that kind of slim pickings. Ryan Wood and Kassidy Hill are really good when they do streaming content...Hill is super talented...really loved her in-depth piece on Special Teams a couple months back.

That's why they now spend money on HEADLINE !!!!! writers instead of the talented authors who actually put together the article.

I've been listening to TheFan 107.5 on iHeart for about 5 years. They only had an hour of The Big Show in between Bill and Rookie and The Jim Rome show.

Pretty shitty how Audacy handled this.

None of those dudes got paid big bucks? Hell, they get paid poverty wages. Most of these guys are diehards. I am expecting most of these guys to just go the podcast route.

I liked all the hosts at 1250 the FAN but liked Bart Winkler and Tim Allen the most.  Bart was hilarious and a Fond du Lac native like me.

Tim Allen was the most hardcore Brewers fan there is and his Brewers coverage was always worth listening to.

When I was much younger, I listened to Sly in the morning on WIBA.  Don't know why this thread made me think of that, but I laughed my ass off more than once on the drive to work.

Good times, now I only listen to my 6 channels on XM or carplay my phone music selection.  Talk and news radio has lost my attention.  It's not like it used to be
