Just saw the Crew optioned Gennett down to Colorado Springs. Seems like patience may not be long on supply with Counsel at the helm.

Patience is pretending a weak hitting 2B with a .403 OPS is trying to work his way out of a slump, when he's just frankly not that good. Herrera and Gomez are much much better options.
Yeah. I agree. Let those other guys play. So, is the another guy Doug Melvin should have re-evaluated better?
Scoot simply doesn't hit lefties and has struggled overall this year compared to last year. I think Elk mentioned Seggy moving to 2nd possibly if the young SS in the minors is the future. A platoon of Seg/Scoot would be very productive IMO.
Fans hated on Weeks but that platoon of Scoot and Weeks last year was pretty damn good. That may be Scoot's future.
As far as using this as an opportunity to hate on Melvin, Gennett was a 16th round draft choice. If a pick that low makes the show, that's a pretty good.
Gennett certainly did well last season and was a plus. And I was not necessarily condemning Melvin.
My thought is that maybe Melvin and the Brewers pinned too much hope on him for this season and perhaps should have had a platoon plan in place to begin with this year?
if he hit righties this wouldn't have happened. I'm thinking the club could get by with his weak stick vs lefties if he was hitting rhp, but he isn't hitting anything, so he got sent down.
They need to just end this season already and can his ass
Yeah, 11 games under .500. I thought after last week, there may be some hope to salvage this season and earn some respect. And there is still time to do that. But it is obvious that many other mediocre teams have become better and the Brewers have gotten worse.
