So Wolf and Harlan are to blame for Sherman's ineptitude?

Without those two guys we'd still be in NFL Siberia

Sherman was on a fast train to getting us back to 1991.  Good guy but he sucked.

No doubt, but I think he meant they are the guys that gave him the keys to the car, which isn't Sherman's fault. I remember back in 2001 stating "both jobs are too much for any one man."

As evidenced by him not acquiring another NFL HC job offer. Hell, not even NCAA wants him anymore. Fortunately, TT pulled the emergency stop on that train & switched us to the correct track.

I liked to think that if Sherman had a Ted-like GM behind him during his coaching era, the Packers would have been able to sneak in and steal a Super Bowl. But with his drinking buddies Rossley and Duffner on the payroll, and an over-the-hill Favre going through the motions, it still likely wouldn't have happened.

Great assistant. A leader at the NFL level? Not so much.

Lot of similarities to the 2003 team and 2010 team. Both got hot. Big difference is Sherman pumping the brakes on 4th and 1 in Philly. There's no way he hasn't replayed that call in his head a million times.

Stop 4th and 26 and we ain't discussing that. These two plus the Favre duck in OT was something I never thought would be duplicated...until last January.

Good for Sherman, he is still into coaching and willing to work where he is wanted.

I've got my issues with Favre but I don't agree with that assessment.

I may be in the minority, but I liked Sherman. NOT as GM, but as the HC.

Every coach has made questionable (at best) decisions during their tenures, so I can't fault him for that. Ditto for 'coddling' certain players.

What I liked best about him was his respect for the history and tradition of the Packers. I think he was very sincere about that, and imparted that to his teams.

He is a good man, and I hope he enjoys his new job.

I'll comment on GM - he stunk.  He kicked the scouts out of the draft room because he wanted to take BJ Sander against their wishes.  He should have listened to his scouts more.

I also remember reading about how Sherman stopped listening to his scouts. He was his own worst enemy. And IIRC, he also acted like an ass to Thompson in the year they were together.

The collective trash heap that was the Packers defense, oy.  DONNEL WASHINGTON!  Did that guy even get on the field?

I thought Donnell was going to be awesome too.
